In trying to stay engaged with the community, I'm not too sure the best way people stay in contact with each other. So I have devised a way for everyone (especially me) to get to know someone a little bit better.
I want to learn about what things really inspire you. What can you teach me, and everybody else, about something that you are absolutely passionate about? This is a no hold back zone: anything goes. It just has to be something that you hold close to you.

I've come to find that my two passions in life (besides my husband and kid
) are crafting and shamanism. And when I can combine the two, watch out!! And then I have a passion for leadership and teaching next

Honestly, I've been having to reassess the things I love in life, having gone through some major life changes.
But throughout this change, I have realised one of my greatest passions is my lightsabre and using it in martial arts. Just today I've acquired a new, better fitting blade for my height, and already my love for using it has grown as its become easier, more natural.
I also love the Jedi Path, growing constantly and using every experience to learn who I am and what I am capable of. I also love how it's brought people around the world together in a pursuit of self-betterment and growth of the world as a whole.
Also, huge fan of going on walks, just to unwind and relax.

Pigeons are able to navigate using a combination of a mental map and compass. They have visual and scent-based maps, and solar and magnetic compasses. When one of their maps or compasses is compromised, they can recognise that, and choose their tools to navigate home. And people think they are just stoopid grey feather bags....

Great idea, Thomas!
I'm a communications enthusiast and I work in commercial radio, specifically for CBS Radio in Southern California. The history and technology of radio is fascinating. Most people know about AM (Amplitude Modulation) and FM (Frequency Modulation) radio, but aren't aware of the difference.
AM radio signals vary the amplitude, or height, of a radio wave coming from the transmitter. These waves travel very far and very high in the atmosphere, but they don't penetrate well. This is why AM signals go out when you go under bridges in your car. It is also why some AM signals can be heard across huge distances, but don't sound that great for music. These waves also bounce off of clouds, so AM radio actually works better on cloudy days. Because they travel so high, antennas can be located anywhere, even below sea level.
FM radio signals vary the frequency, or space between peaks, of a radio wave coming from the transmitter. These waves don't travel as far, but they penetrate buildings and concrete much better than AM. FM also allows for a clean separation of channels allowing music to be broadcast in stereo. These waves also require more electrical power and produce higher radiation than AM. In the past, FM antennas would actually glow at night. Now they are regulated, but some still produce 90,000 watts of power, so don't go near them or you're likely to get fried. Since FM is a more directional and concentrated signal, you'll see FM transmitters on extremely high antenna towers or placed on top of mountains. The higher, the better coverage. Nowadays there is also High Definition radio signals that can be embedded into FM signals that allow one frequency to broadcast multiple channels if you have the correct equipment to receive it.
There is also satellite radio, which is similar to AM in it's wide coverage area, but also has poor penetration. Your antenna has to be within a direct line of site of the satellite or it doesn't work.
I could go on and on, but I'm sure I've bored people enough by now

I love nature am fasinated with plants, the way they can recognise there own species, can connect through root systems and help out there familys (as such).
The defences they can deploy to deal with pest. They can release toxins or even scents that encourage friendly insects that are natural predators of the insects that would destroy them.
The connection overall with plants, trees and grass is amazing and with the more we learn about nature the more it helps us understand our own connection with earth and our place in nature.
The storms and the beauty go hand in hand and the natural energy within nature can bolster our spirits.
Lol
I have so much info on plants, and find experiments done to see if they feel or hold memories are an eye opener.
Experiments with positive or negative vibrations. Intentional such, like raging, or love have in my opinion something to teach us about human interaction.
Yeah maybe rambling but thats what I am passionate about, learning, reading and doing my own experiments.

drumming! I've been playing the drums since I was 15 years old and it is one of my passions. It was a good way to destress, too!
Unfortunately, I live in an apartment and can't play them but still have a set. My set is very special to me because it was purchased by my late sister. Even if I don't use it, I still have it set up and sit at it and ghost drum.
I practice as best as I can with pads and even rock band (it's not the same, but the motions are good practice. I play by ear and can't read the sheet music (too much at once, hurts my head!). I can read the sheet music for the snare alone thanks to taking band class back in HS.
I don't think I will ever give up drumming! It's so relaxing and entertaining for me. It's almost like a spiritual experience every time I get behind it.

I love Iron Age hill forts! I used to take day trips out to visit them when I lived in the UK. Often they are hills that have been of spiritual significance to humanity for 5,000 years or more. During the Iron Age, great earthworks were dug around them to form defensive settlements, and you can still hike over the massive banks and ditches today. I've had some of my most profound, life-changing ideas come to me while exploring hill forts.
At Old Sarum, near Salisbury, I gazed out on the patchwork of farmland below that still conformed to the field boundaries established in Neolithic times. At Maiden Castle near Dorchester, which is one of the biggest hill forts in Europe, I wandered around for hours in the wind and rain with notebook in hand, and eventually wrote a novella set there. Hiking to the Uffington White Horse (an ancient chalk outline of a horse across what used to be a hill fort), I sheltered from a thunderstorm in an Iron Age earthwork and later climbed to the hilltop, marveling that my footsteps traced a path that people have used for thousands upon thousands of years.

I love to teach!
I absolutely love teaching people new things, especially when they are interested in the subject and genuinely feel that they can and want to benefit from it!

I have just taken over the Dark Aspect at Force Academy and am absolutely in love with almost the exact thing that caused this thread to exist. I want to help people understand themselves and their motivations. I want to be a part of helping them chase down their passions. It's the greatest thing you can do, becoming completely self-aware and taking responsibility for your life in a way that propels you forward.
