Some of us turn up here lost and without direction, the IP helps to set us in the right direction.
Some of us have had much teaching and training in the past, but are not quite sure how Jediism fits in, the IP helps show what Jediism means so we can explore it within our own path.
Some of us turn up feeling like we know it all, the IP shows us there is always something to learn.
Some of us turn up impatient, the IP helps to show us how to be patient and work through.
Some of us turn up without any sort of idea what we want, the IP gives us a chance to work on something while we figure it out.
I could keep going...
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

I have always considered the IP (to quote the fiction) "Your first step into the larger world". Campbell, Watts and the various other lessons expose us to different viewpoints, make our world larger (in a sense) and ensure that we have some commonalities to talk about that extend beyond the confines of George Lucas' space opera

To begin to consider our own perspective on the Force
To learn to be members of this community
To build a deeper understanding of our foundational mythology and symbolism
To demonstrate to prospective teaching masters who we are and how we think
To learn
To grow
To build a shared base of understanding with all others here at the Temple
Amongst other things

Can u elaborate for the rest of the class, mainly....me? That actually doesn't sound at all fitting. As a whole I've asked our community to come together here and make a real style application to the actual application to the ip. Regurgitation seems to not be the idea, but maybe a more opening of things maybe some have never heard of or even thought possible. I know for myself I had never heard of Allen watts till I got here. Although I don't see eye to eye with a lot pm what I've read the jem I think can be... we can think like that? There's an outside to the box? Hmm mm.steamboat28 wrote: Basic indoctrination to TOTJO-style thought regurgitation.
