If anything, they should treat it like other religions who get to wear at least the head gear (e.g., yamaka, taqiyah, etc.). Like a pirate hat and eye patch, or something like that.

I had a great teacher tell me "u can eat a ham and mayonnaise sandwich that been sitting out for days, but does that sound like a good idea?"

I'm glad there are choices. I am familiar with this spaghetti monster idea. More time than... well all the times I have encountered this theory, no one was spreading and good or well wishes, I find the monsters intent is a very foolish toss at common religion. Not my cup of tea. The intent is always clear.

Oh so many thoughts.

Highest among them is when will the Flying Spaghetti Monster be featured in a Godzilla or Godzilla-esque movie? I'd totally watch that and I think that the Pastafarians would be okay with it. It also kind of makes me wonder if there are any Godzilla based religions. I might have to report back on that.

Second. It looks like the FSM fought the law and the law won.

[strike]Stephen, you're in prison for first-degree assault. You tried to kill two people with a hatchet. Don't attach yourself to a childish atheist metaphor whose goal is to antagonize people and drag us down with you, just SHUT UP.[/strike]

I really, really hope any incarcerated Jedi don't draw attention to themselves like this.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

no one was spreading and good or well wishes

Well wishes are a requirement for religions to be considered legitimate? Really? I've never met a mean-spirited FSM follower, nor have I encountered anyone of that influence who wished me harm. They always wished me well...

I find the monsters intent is a very foolish toss at common religion. Not my cup of tea. The intent is always clear.

Not always. There may be a different intent than you make up in your own mind. Do I sense prejudgment?

You realize that the entire point of the FSM is a mean-spirited parody of christianity, yes? I have never encountered anything BUT hostility when it is brought up. It's the main reason I don't roll with vocal atheists anymore. There's far too much hate and hostility going on. Atheism has turned into anti-theists trying to make christians look like idiots for most of the community, and that's not cool.

Everytime you see this more and more, atheists who seem hell-bent on putting down believers. But generalising is not a good thing (didn't YOU say that when people began to generalize about feminists equalling feminazis?) *wink*

Are you telling me not to generalize about my own group's obnoxious behavior because it's unfair to us? Hehe!

Muh brain feels tickly ;)

Well, as a satirical counterpoint to the moronic idea that religious dogma should be taught in science classes...
