That is really what i was refering to as well , we should look at being better than them , even if that means wasting money , life is sacred indeed , and if we kill them , we are like them , murderers
State sanctioned 'murder' is rarely if ever called 'murder'. It has a different definition. 'War'. 'Military or police actions'. 'Execution'.
Soldiers, policemen, others, carry out orders. 'Murderers' kill without sanction of the state, for the thrill, for retribution, for whatever reason. They have lost some spark of the divine that mandates peace, makes us more than animals. I for one do not mourn them.
I wonder.. who`s order? the judge? Or the writers of the law? some people did designed it.. someone did ordered it, even if it was indirectly. I would almost think that the big difference is the state vs the individual that decides if it is execution or murder. Not the orders given by one, or the thoughts. Still, I find it strange that people feel different by the two words. If I would say that a serialkiller did execute seven people in front of a wall, should I call that murder or execution?
I think that the main difference between execution and murder is the way of doing, and the personal feeling that it brings with it. Rather than the person / law that executes it. But opinions may be different for sure..

Someone has committed some kind of violent crime for which they are serving a life sentence with no chance of being released to the public. While in prison, they regularly murder individuals in the prison for fun. As a result, they are forced into a solitary situation, wherein they cannot interact with others. Even guards are in danger while delivering meals to this person, as they will violently lash out in any way possible just to get some laughs. Psychologists/psychiatrists have done what they can, but this person doesn't respond to any medication or forms of therapy, and has also tried to assault doctors during therapy sessions.
As a result, this person must live their entire life in solitary confinement and presents a real and serious threat to anyone around them. Is it more humane, then, to keep this person alive -- living a life devoid of any form of enjoyment and ultimately a life doomed to being no more than an animal in a cage, while at the same time draining resources which could be better spent on those seriously being rehabilitated -- or is it more humane to end their life, one filled with only suffering and promoting suffering in others?

This is indeed a very good question, but as stubborn as i am i will keep my opinion that all life is sacred.
If the person is isolated from other prisoners then usually the interaction with him is so minimal that i doubt that he would be able to harm a guard, as meals are not brought to cells without a protection between the prisoner and the guard. As far as i know atleast.
And to the question of what is most humane..
I belive what is most humane is to keep the prisoner alive, it is of course tragic that all attempts with him has failed, but i still think that he should be kept alive.
If we dealt with problems by ending them in the easy way, by just ending them, then we won't get very far. I belive that close examination of and study of why the prisoner is the way he is could help us in the future to prevent the same behavior from other prisoners.
