Let's not forget the fit that paper companies throw about hemp.

the only one that stuck up for it (besides the medical community) was the bird seed industry

pretty much everyone else saw it as a competitor

Well, as often as i read now, that it would cure cancer - Don't forget: Bob Marley died of cancer, too.
Weed does not make you immune to cancer, especially not if you consume it together with tobacco.

I'm all for legalization. It appears to me anyway, that many laws are being tightened, while there are less and less being loosened. Which, to me, is a bad trend.

Remember, Bob Marley smoked it and I don't think he was around for when they started extracting the oils or juicing the leaves and ingesting them where the real medicinal value is. And they've actually done a study showing that people who smoke weed and tobacco are less likely to develop cancer associated with tobacco use. As well as others that show that marijuana has the opposite effect on the lungs when tobacco will close and tighten your lungs marijuana will open them. And yes smoking anything damages your lungs there is no question, but the resins in the smoke may actually have a protective effect compared to tobacco smoke.

EDIT: Remember Bob Marley's cancer was supposedly from his foot, he played a lot of soccer and would play and play and play even with his foot injury and that is where they said the cancer came from. I sense a conspiracy, where's my tin foil hat? Not only that, he sure as heck didn't pursue any natural treatments that I'm aware of.

EDIT EDIT: And yes, nothing can't totally protect you from cancer, which is caused mainly by two things: Exposure to environmental toxins and poor nutrition. Most of our severe diseases and cancers are starting to be treated and reversed with not marijuana, but a diet consisting of whole, ripe, raw, organic fruits and vegetables. Given the right conditions the body has the innate capacity to heal itself. Afterall, we all have cancer cells in us as and it's not a foreign thing maybe not even a virus as they would have us believe, it's part of us it's a community of cells that is not communicating with the immune system and the immune system does not attack these cancers because they are part of us so what disrupts our biochemical and enzymatic functions that cause different parts of body to stop communicating property?? Chemicals, processed food, toxins, etc.

You can also ingest marijuana in a myriad of others ways aside from smoking.

You can eat it, which actually last longer.

You can vape, which is like smoking, but your not burning the plant matter, so it avoids harming you that way.

To this day there is not one death attributed to smoking marijuana, as which was mentioned above ,does not actually effect your lungs in the same manner.

All cancer treatments aside from pain management are not about smoking, as is also mentioned above.

I dont think anyone makes the claim that it makes you immune, not in any reputable study I have read.
