I already know, I would vote for it given the right circumstances. But even then, it's not the decision of the jury to determine if the death penalty is proper. A jury can't say "we say the guy is guilty, but we plead that you do not give him the death penalty!" They vote on whether or not a crime was committed. The sentence is determined by a different party.

I already vote for people that support the death penalty. it's part of the criteria that I look for in a candidate.

In US federal courts that's true. In Texas and some of the states a defendant has the right to have the jury decide guilt and the sentence.
