No. If it does then real problems need addressing.

Viewing pornography can "deepen the intimacy level" between partners (in a healthy way). However, both partners have to hold the same understanding of what pornography is, how it's being used, and what their choices mean for the relationship.

Like anything, I think that it really depends on the individual.

I have no issue with the concept of consuming adult material (sorry, I just HAD to say that, its just a ridiculous sentence :D ) but I have some concerns about some of the over all themes, and effects.

I think porn can be fun, but its also very misleading in its nature. So long as anyone watching, particularly if inexperienced or if they have emotional issues around sex, can remember to separate the fantasy from reality, then why not.

A couple things though
1 - If your partner has an issue with you watching it, I would seriously suggest you see someone together to talk about it. there is always an underlying issue.Whether yours or theirs.
2 - If youre relying on porn to learn how to please a female partner, please dont, just dont. ASK THEM what works.

I'm doing research. Honestly honey. It's for you as much as it is me.

Not to derail, but I couldn't help it.

HAHAHA, Nice. And hey, for research purposes, why not :D

But I will tell you that a common gripe when women have one too many cocktails and start discussing their experiences, is that their partner is copying what he saw watching porn.

I need a little more than a "it's your choice. What do YOU believe?" kind of answer.

Specifically, I'm looking for insight into adult material: Viewing habits concerning videos, pictures, performances, graphic arts, comics etc.

Productive? Detrimental? What is excessive? Is abstinence willful ignorance? At what point is to it too much? Can it be too little? Can it be separated from physical needs and truly viewed as an art form? What about "play time" with ones own body? Is it in aid for a need or a drug for the addicted? If it can be either, where is the line? Does this material create unrealistic expectations? Does this material distance a person from real intimacy? Can it fulfill the physical need and thus remove an essential aspect of our interaction with others? Does it harm women? Does it harm men? Can it be uplifting?

The very nature of this thread is a sensitive topic but one that I feel is important to discuss, not only to help me address my personal concerns but also as something that should be discussed as a community. I request that answers be kept to the civil level in light of any who look up to us Jedi stumbling onto the thread with a parent over their shoulder.

Feelings of Guilt? I work in head shop that sells adult novelties. Sell everything from movies to vibrators and everything in between. (haa haa, that was a joke!) Majority of the people we sell to actually are couples looking for something to spice up the night(s). Some even come in together. Yup we get some single guys and gals that come in, but in the end you have to remember its entertainment. Perhaps not as enjoyable as a Disney cartoon to some, but that its all fake. Its not real those are actors that are paid. Some really do enjoy it, some are stuck in a trade and are wage workers. The human body is a beautiful creation, it does pretty amazing neat things (and some really gross ones!)

Unrealistic expectations? sure, exactly like how Cosmo and our movies get us stuck on how women should look and act. In the end you really do need to find what is acceptable for you. If its something you enjoy, awesome, if you decide that once you stand everyone on their head naked they all look the same and its not for you, awesome. Just remember. Its fake, its not real and those are all just actors getting paid to scream at the right moment.

Hmm tricky question. I guess its like that experiment they did with mice, given two buttons to press, one would give it an orgasm, the other some food.... it starved
  :(

Trial and error in finding an ideal balance perhaps is the best advice? But also various natures of balance in different aspects of the circumstance means health can be better maintained... so if we consider health reaches across the body, mind and social domains then we'd need to understand any use of porn for its true nature in regards to the impact of it's production, distribution, consumption across those domains.
