I see that as weakness because your mind is not even present...

But I don't think that is 'enlightenment', just wise action as generated by lots of training. I'd suggest he has trained his subconscious to fight for him so his conscious awareness (his sense of mind/observer) is detached from that processing.

That's pretty much where I was going with it Adder. Bruce's fighting style was essentially "no mind, no style." The point here is that he was not thinking in those situations, as the mind would have easily just got in the way of things. His fighting style was instinctive. People have a knack for placing too much thought on what enlightenment is. If there was ever an "enlightened fighting style" it would have been his. Technically even that is somewhat hypocritical, because he stressed he had no style..

As my shuri-te instructor would say:"practice until it's automatic"...there have been numerous occasions in which I've struck in defense so quickly I didn't know what happened until after the fact...in fact the sherriff's office saw it as me striking first and I got to spend the night in the luxurious county jail

For the record I didn't strike first, I simply connected first while also avoiding being hit...florida just happened to have some really dumb self defense laws pertaining to ex-military, and martial artists at the time  we were legally obligated to inform a would be attacker of our training....in my experience that only encourages them more since everyone wants to be able to brag about beating a black belt or special ops ...I much prefer our stand your ground law...since it went into effect violent crime has dropped...would be thugs are a bit more reluctant to attack since you don't know who's packing...

That sounds like it would be quite hard in the 'heat of the moment', especially if they jumped you..

It won't let me have a blank signature ...

That would be like having to make people sign a waiver before they attacked you saying that they understand the potential consequences of physically attacking a person, regardless of their training.

I've never understood laws about military and martial artists. The very fact that we can more efficiently defend ourselves removes our ability to, legally at least. Stand your ground laws and castle laws make way more sense.
