I wasn't saying that, I was referring to your comment that all religions have gods of peace... there are areas of the Christian bible in the old testament that could be argued to show a definite non peaceful god.. Assuming our gods are supposed to be an example of behaviour..

I am registered as an Independent, but have considered registering for the very reason.

Primaries are in-party. It is a parallel process. The two-party system isn't law. It just has tremendous momentum.

If totjo were running a candidate, only members would vote on who runs in the general. But we don't do that. It's in the rules.

That said, if there were an American Jedi party, that could be big fun. Who might run for Chancellor, uhm, President?

You could make the secret service wear the Imperial Guard red...

That is the very Klingon ideal as well. To die well in battle. Although conflict can lead to violence it is not always a foregone conclusion. Some of the most incredible discoveries in human nature have been the result of conflict resolved peacefully through reason. It is not always necessary to beat our foe into submission. Although that goes against our human nature. As humans we are programmed to dominate by whatever means necessary to fulfill our desires. I believe that is part of the reason we are so selfish as a race in general. Diplomacy can rule out when all parties are allowed to benefit in some way. Sometimes this is not possible. I have always felt violence is justified in defense. Too bad these days our defense includes economic values which really are not the same thing at all.

So where does it end? Do I react with violence every time my personal beliefs are threatened, or only my life or those who I am sworn to protect?

Is it violence for violence sake?

I also have the heart of a dragon and find that it makes me very unhappy to resist my inner urges. Hopefully my Jedi training will help me to deal with those. They may help you as well. MTFBWY

Take up a martial art with a heavy emphasis on live sparring, or just a sport with a bit of competitiveness in general.

I would not recommend Jedi training, or Sith training for that matter simply to deal with the those urges.

Plenty of ways to vent those urges in a way that does not end in death and destruction, but plenty of growth through the use of conflict.

Feed your warrior blood, there is plenty of outlets for it if your willing to find them.

Times of peace (as is times of war) are a natural part of the yin and yang of good and evil. We must have war in order for the human mind to cherish peace. The warrior is the defender of the peace. He clashes with the human minds that cherish war. The victims of this endless battle is the weak minded that think we can "all just get along". We know them as yuppies, liberals, and democrats. :woohoo:

The good thing is that the battle thins that segment of human frailty, and again, the natural order of survival of the fittest surfaces.

Hey I'm a democrat

Let me ask this question...

A kid in your school class Tyrone is failing all his classes, and you are getting straight "A's". The teachers says that she is going to give Tyrone one of your A's so he can pass.

What is Your response?
