As long as I still pass it doesn't matter much...

It wouldn't be the first time I "helped" someone pass a class....

In highschool my friends and I would hack the school mainframe and change grades for others....

You get his "F" and your not helping, it's being taken away from you without consent.

This is not a prank to help friends get grades.

Are you still OK with this?

It takes more than one f to fail a class....

And the government already takes a lot of things from me without my consent....I have no problem giving to the less fortunate so long as they really need it and are not scamming the system...the problem is that the republicans and conservatives would have us think that everyone is scamming the system when its really a very small number doing so...

I prefer to keep what I earn and give from the heart. I don't like being voluntold that I'm going to do it without consent. I earned my grades and I'll help anyone with their lessons, but to give someone anything unearned does them no good.

Give someone a fish and you feed them today, teach someone to fish and they eat for the rest of their lives.

Let me ask this question...

A kid in your school class Tyrone is failing all his classes, and you are getting straight "A's". The teachers says that she is going to give Tyrone one of your A's so he can pass.

What is Your response?

That situation does not have an analogue in real life. It is a straw man argument. Logical fallacy, intellectually dishonest.

It's wonderful that you like to earn and it's good to give from the heart.

It's much easier to condemn the poor than to understand them...I grew up in and out of the system...in and out of foster care as well...so I know how it feels...when I became one of the long term unemployed I was reminded of how little is needed to live and of how foolish it can be to constantly aquire...too much acquiring leads to attachment....now that I'm once again unemployed (thanks to corporate greed) I'm not as worried, I plan to have a job, but I also know plans crumble easily...hopefully I can escape having to fall back into the trap of the system...at least I know there are worse things in life than being poor....like being a greedy, selfish, @$$hole as most tea partiers are...

That teach them to fish thing doesn't work if they die of starvation before they catch anything.

While I am doing quite well now, I was homeless for a little while too. It would be nice if the world were so simple. Still and all, if hard work directly equaled wealth, all he women in my family in South America would be multi-millionaires.

I worked very hard to get where I am. I was offered disability and turned it down because I wanted to know if I could do it on my own, and I did. Except that I was never really on my own. I always had a basically civil society around me. I had running water and steady electricity. I had cops walking the streets, and I must grudgingly admit that I count a few of them as friends and that most police I have encountered are generally ethical people. I had hospitals waiting if anything went too wrong. The fire department would answer if I called.

Are there ugly exceptions to each of these? Of course. I could name a few, myself. But all in all, I was almost never completely alone. I'm proud of that. I'm proud to be part of a society wherein at least some of the members refuse to throw people away. I am proud to contribute to that now that I am doing much better.

Go back to an earlier post from Khaos. We are aggressive, but we hunt in packs. We stick up for each other. We hold each other up.

No one is condemning the poor or trying to stop giving through government subsidies. Lets do it in a way that helps them get back on their feet. Like finding jobs for them and bringing businesses back to the US and other countries.
