I also have a problem with people bastardizing and raping science to "prove" there faith.

As many do so and have no real idea what there talking about, and others are taking it on faith.

I remember seeing Bill Hicks talk about a discussion between God and Jesus about how they would bury dinosaur fossils just to test our faith! :)

This quote disturbs me because I don't what to say but I feel I should defend faith. I then asked myself "why"? Why defend faith? What value does it bring?

Of course there are risks we/I have faith because we don't have complete information to make a decisions with. If we had evidence or it was logical we wouldn't call it faith, we'd call it facts. No need to defend it, just have faith that you are right. :)

Or.... OOOOORRRR.... test whether or not you actually are! And if you have no evidence to go on, just admit to yourself that you have no bloody clue and go try and find a clue. Just going with a blind shot and patting yourself on the back for that "achievement" is just... pathetic, if one wants to be generous. I'd personally rather say its cowardly, arrogant and dangerous, too.

Faith vs evidence.

Strong content, but poignant

I'm not following you?

I just have faith.

PS Your choice of words is rather provoking. Is that your intention or are you just busting my rocks? :)

I remember seeing that years ago...and remember how shaken he was when it didn't work in front of the scientist...

I used to watch "fight science" all the time and remember seeing a shaolin monk press a speartip to his throat and bending the shaft without breaking the skin and the scientists were measuring the amount of force being applied at the point of contact..

Also saw another monk apply a hammer drill to various points on his body, and while it left marks it never broke the skin....and Ihave seen ssomeone accidentally drill a hole in their face because they didn't handle the hammer drill properly...

Yes, but these is not chi at work.

Many stage magicians and performers can do these tricks with training that has nothing to do with chi, or any special powers.

It takes a good deal of training, but at least one is getting paid for the work they put into learning there tricks.

First off, the spears that they wee forcing themselves on bent quite severely and readily.

...Based on my own experience, it seems silly to go on believing something you can't defend from yourself.
