To everybody who's been replying, I thank you for your advice. I have made the decision to practice inaction. I am not going to shut her out nor am I going to make a concerted effort to bring her in.
I will allow the Force to guide my actions and let things progress organically. If it is meant to be, through getting access to my medical records (which I am going to pursue legally, since it was a closed adoption), then it will be.
