If you ruled the world..

Channel all the worlds resources into moving off-world as quickly and efficiently as possible, and make the planet a big national park only for pregnant couples for the year either side of child birth. :S

I'd rather not destroy the planet's biodiversity if at all possible. I do note though that the task of moving offworld would be an immense strain on the planet, and that is why I'd do it as a priority. Doesn't sound very nice I know, living in space or on the moon, but before too long it will be a lot worse and perhaps even impossible (if not already) to spare the planet's biodiversity.

It would give lots of work perhaps but conditions would be tough and hard to control. Have rules that human's are only allowed to visit dead planets, without controlling involvement of the science based community government. I'm big for biodiversity in that way and do not want to pollute other planets, but I do see dead chunks of rock as there for the taking... as most often they just end up crashing into other stuff anyway.

I think technology might get to a point in the mid term future where all experience can be simulated with fidelity exceeding natural senses so, without making us all live in red bathtubs of liquid tended over by robotic spiders (Matrix), we could inhabit virtual worlds for longer periods which exceeded the experiences of real ones thus allowing a new age of human psychological development as we spread outwards in space tending to the natural gardens (living planet).

I would secretly spy on everyone while they can't get a job while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer... oh wait, the freemasons already beat me to it. darn

Oh wait, actually I would pump CO2 into the atmosphere until the planet overheats.

Or maybe I would just make pesticides that kill off all the bees and genetically modified plants that pests become resistant to and wipe out all the food on the planet.

I would do as any one person who ruled the world should do and give up my power granting everyone protection in the form of a republic with a written constitution...

@Whyte Horse, thank you for posting 3 posts in a row. I think the world might have ended had the space you occupied not been wasted by spam...

I would start by leaving everithing the way it is and then proceed to change things for the better a small step at a time, otherwise I think it would turn into chaos, forcing me to employ martial law to try to keep control, wich would only make it all worse, and the world would perish in civil war.

But I'd rather find myself a calm place to live my life and leave that world ruling thing to someone wiser, ensuring my calm place remains untouched of course.

I would make students borrow $100k to go to college and then make them work at starbucks... muahahahaha

I would tell certain people that their aluminum foil hats dont actually prevent the aliens from scanning their brains. Sit back, and watch the panic unfold.



In seriousness though, id force everyone to sit down and take a hard look at the resources they consume and make them find a way to not be so shamefully wasteful.

I'd make everyone remove their shoes before getting on airplanes. muahahahaha

If I ruled the world, I'd hand that job over to the better man/woman.
