I am grateful that I get an extra paycheck this month just in time to pay the medical bill I got slammed with yesterday.

I am grateful to my adopted mom and girlfriend for being sources of comfort when I need them, and to my blood mom for everything she's done for me.

I am also grateful to the band Of Monsters and Men for putting words to my emotions and fears through their album Beneath the Skin. "Black Water" and "I Of the Storm" are quite accurate.

Another thing to be grateful for:

I am grateful to Janet next door at work for bringing in chocolate cake to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day and sharing it with me. Where there's financial stress, there's chocolate cake to help you feel better. :)

I am grateful for John Williams. His music is the perfect mix of relaxing classical and epic Star Wars-ness that makes for a great soundtrack at work.

I'm grateful for music, and the ability to appreciate a wide variety of artists. And the ability to feel like a part of me has vanished when they pass on.

I am grateful for the TOTJO chatroom. I only got a few minutes before my connection timed out, but it was nice talking "live" with other members here. :)

The optimist expects it to change;
The realist adjusts the sails.

I am grateful for all the space programs around the world. NASA, the ESA, Japan's space program for which I don't remember the acronym, India's, Russia's, and every other country that has one. Each and every one of them does work that is more important than almost anyone on Earth gives them credit for. The assumption is that looking at things off world can't help us here but that is far from the truth. Plus, they actually do a lot of things directly on and for Earth.
