I have requested a group instead. At least we can organize our videos and guides better. Our fitness journals will probably have to stay in the health, physical fitness, well-being forum.

If anyone's form of combat requires armour of any kind, could I get links to what is used? I can try to replicate some things out of leather (and I have some jerry-rigging metalwork I can do) to help teach people how to protect themselves. I would imagine a minimum is bracers and kidney protection, but any additional guidance is appreciated.

For HEMA, we use:

Light combat:
-fencing mask
-fencing jacket or historical padded gambeson
-leather gloves

Heavy combat:
-all of the above, plus
-padded gloves
-gorget (either armour or leather)
-elbow and shin guards.
-cup/chest protection
-mouthguard
-optional: maille shirt or plate armour

This is where we get most of our gear: http://www.woodenswords.com/default.asp

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/51201297/calimacil-foam-lightsaber/description

discovered this while browsing youtube. Seems to combine lightsabers and foam sword fighting. Figures safe lightsaber combat starts from Canada, eh? ;)

Perhaps a good idea for those that want to get into contact duelling but cant afford all the safety equipment involved?

Calimacil has a bad rep for the harder fighting groups. The foam is not suited to hard combat and the cores can snap easily. Then again, I am function over form on this aspect.

They look good, but you can't really repair "latex" weapons well, they are generally used with lightest touch LARPs as opposed to full contact.

I did a quick video on Muscle Memory, if you have any advice on the video itself, anymore more you want to add, I am more than happy to redo it.

Great video and very important! Tomorrow I'll try to pick up enough hardware to do one of the lightsaber videos. I have some supplies currently.
