I deleted my account a few years ago, after realising how much negativity flows on the facebook feed. Facebook becomes a way of feeding one's self doubts, which only makes the feelings worse, which means they post more on Facebook.. and then the cycle starts again. Maybe not for all people, but definitely for many I saw.
There are better ways of keeping in contact I think.

Sounds kinda like TOTJO......

Except I feel no negative effects from being on TOTJO..

Perhaps you don't, we've never met in person, so I'll just have to trust being on TOTJO is like having a bunch of puppies licking you half to death.

The point I was making, is that a good number of people on here use the site to dump & feed off of negative emotion. Because of that, there is a constant flow of negativity on TOTJO.

As soon as I figure out some legal way I can force the deletion of my account (since asking isn't enough) I won't be on TOTJO, FB, or any other social media community.

Kohadre, I'll miss you and I know many others will too, but if you want your account deleted and understand it will not delete any past posts it will go. The fact that you were here and were a member does not get deleted.

Part of the reason why I started Gathered Force Community. It has a facebook like wall, a facebook like profile, even facebook like Groups and a chat similar to Facebook. Except that all the outward influances that is not Jedi is taken out, and all the Jedi/force centered stuff is prime.

For myself I still have Facebook and will keep it. I have quite an extensive family and they are very far away. I havn't seen my dad or anyone (Besides my mom) in over 10 years....Faceboook helps me to keep connected with them. I even found family I never knew I had through Facebook. Facebook has brought so much together....but it has also driven so many things apart (Namely Jedi Communities.)

Like Ghost Dog said....I just work Facebook to my desired needs rather than let it flood me with negative propaganda. You can actually control alot with the settings if you put enough time into it. :)

Social media tends to get a bit like 'electronic graffetti', or 'digital diarrhea'. The idea was probably that using people's true identities would reduce the stupid posting, but people don't seem to mind dumping their BS in the wrong place so long as they think people are reading it.

I reckon its a byproduct of the disconnection created by device interaction, that people become more needy for interaction!!! But are too busy, immature or angry at themselves to bother to do it properly and in a constructive manner - which feeds back and ends up becoming part of their actual identity as they begin to enjoy it - becoming a form of electronic pollution which leaves the rest of everyone else who might be trying to use the network in a more calm and thoughtul manner wading through garbage posts. The only solution I guess is to try and not litter (get involved in it) and where possible avoid electronic sewage outlets (avoid those types)

... which sort of reminds me of the beginning of the first Matrix movie

I swore I would never have a facebook account for many years, but now I have more than one. Facebook increases knowledge. There are certainly reasons not to have it for some people, but for me I have been able to witness so much stuff it is actually quite amazing.

Of all the tools I can think of Facebook is one that certainly can start working the user to his or her disadvantage without them even knowing it.

Facebook is also the fulfillment of prophecy, fyi, for the haters of prophecy.

*eye roll*

Everyone knows that cucumbers and lotto numbers are magical beings that disappear when you actively search for them!

I didn't ask to be banned, I asked politely to have my account deleted, as can be verified here... http://www.templeofthejediorder.org/forum/47-Journals/51262-the-journal-of-zenchi?start=70.

My mistake on the "request" part....:)

But, you were banned, no deletion of account or posts....

That's why when you returned under Shinzen, I had to alter the old Z account's username...

"Zenchi" was still that account...
