Dropping Facebook
Edan wrote: As another person who dropped Facebook, I can say it's one of the best choices to do with the internet I've ever made.
I deleted my account a few years ago, after realising how much negativity flows on the facebook feed. Facebook becomes a way of feeding one's self doubts, which only makes the feelings worse, which means they post more on Facebook.. and then the cycle starts again. Maybe not for all people, but definitely for many I saw.
There are better ways of keeping in contact I think.
Sounds kinda like TOTJO......
So long and thanks for all the fish

Except I feel no negative effects from being on TOTJO..
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Perhaps you don't, we've never met in person, so I'll just have to trust being on TOTJO is like having a bunch of puppies licking you half to death.
The point I was making, is that a good number of people on here use the site to dump & feed off of negative emotion. Because of that, there is a constant flow of negativity on TOTJO.
As soon as I figure out some legal way I can force the deletion of my account (since asking isn't enough) I won't be on TOTJO, FB, or any other social media community.

Appreicate that rugadd, I really do.
Figured out how to junk my account so I can't get back into it, finishing that up now.
It's been great everyone, but I have come to the conclusion of my journey as far as TOTJO is involved.
I wish you all a very fond farewell.

Online pursuits give that option, in which, if something isnt going the way you like, you can quit, leave, etc.
Probably one of the two biggest discrepancies between online and off.
Life offline isnt so easy, nor should it be.
In life, you have to learn to deal with things, unless you plan to quit, or run away anytime something isnt going the best, or the way you want it to.
Careful what habits you cultivate, for sure, people ten to separate there online an offline time.Sometimes to the point where they start referring to one as "Real life".
However, there is carry over, and despite the "You dont know me" defense, it says a lot about a person in a couple of different ways when this approach to a problem is used.
Abstinence does not equal self control.
Running away does not solve anything.
Avoidance and denial are bad habits to cultivate.
