simply! They told us from the first day of man, he was able to plant, and they tell us we had this agriculture culture since the first day, and call what is before writing prehistory, so we don't need to cover that in history class, and find that man was hunter sometimes...
Update:
If you don't know how this effect the Jedi movement, read the Jedi code, and perhaps look at the current world, if you can't find relation, then look at sub-forum stories, in Training and Library under studies!

No, I mean how will the Jedi movement be in the future? Will it get dragged off-course and corrupted, the way so many religions have been by those in power?

As long as future and present followers alike do not forget what this faith was built upon, I don't see it straying far off course..

I hope we won't have a reformation movement.

This sums it up rather well. But it wouldn't even have to be a Christian -- had one asked an acolyte of the Oracle of Delphi (or even the Oracle) what would happen in the future and probably something of the response will bear on the past. It is difficult to mentally frame things differently. That is one reason why it is so important to calm down the mental ...
It seems that where we are going depends on how well we do now, and then the next now, and then the next now &c &c. Perhaps Jedi could be instrumental by lending a hand in progressive movements that correspond to our principles. The thing to remember however is that as Jedi, we are servants ; the Jedi as well as the Jedi Order would be better to do what we have to do - to serve - and then just go on to the next now.
Tao Te Ching 17
When the Master governs, the people
are hardly aware that he exists.
Next best is a leader who is loved.
Next, one who is feared.
The worst is one who is despised. If you don't trust the people,
you make them untrustworthy. The Master doesn't talk, he acts.
When his work is done,
the people say, "Amazing: we did it, all by ourselves!"

What about the short lived cult of Mithras? We could ask them, but the only reason we know anything about them is because they made a marker in history for us to find. But they didn't survive nearly as long as Delphi or Christianity.
Anyways, values wasn't the only the only thing I was referring to. But also things that you might find taught in some of the Jedi Orders like, basic first aide, critical thinking, psychological first aide or communication would become more prevalent in the system to help people learn how to better live in the world around us. We wouldn't even need to touch on religion (though, interestingly enough, that will never go away as it will present itself some form or another by having mythology taught in the schools for historical and literary purposes).

My honest opinion?
I think that Jediism and Jedi as a whole will continue to be just as irrelevant to the world as we are now.
But that doesn't mean that Jediism would have been a failure. If one person has changed their life for the better and affected the world positively in some way, it is a success. And I would say that already rather more than one person has done that through being a Jedi.

That depends on how long its carried. The movement could go the way of Scientology and outlast the fantasy fiction where it finds its humble origins.
