What is more important? was created by
I was recently astounded by a seemingly simple question: what's more important - a kiss or sex?
At first I wanted to reply that sex was definitely more meaningful, but then I thought of everything that surrounds it; of all the shame, fear and everything that accumulated within such a simple act over the years.

And now a kiss. A simple kiss is something that bears no meaning - it used to, when we were children, but now... But it's still one of the most personal, simple and beautiful acts of simple, childish love which happens so rarely now.

I still don't know what to answer. What about you?

For me it is a kiss.

But I would be interested to see whether in general women and men would give the same answer as each other ;)

I'm sorry if this is a "cop out" answer... but... neither?! It's situational, for sure. For some, sex is an expression of the physical universe, our species reproducing. Maybe it's about pleasure, and the power of the human body over our illusionary existence.

Even so, it might be about the tenderness of the moment. A soft kiss that enlightens the mind to the truth of your relationship. That it's much bigger than your understanding. A kiss could mean that you love somebody. I know that I never even kissed a girl till 17 because MY personal goal was to experience romance when it was deeper than simple lust. I definitely shared that with a girl at that time.

There's no such thing as a simple, concrete answer to this question. It couldn't ever be tied up with a bow. In reality, it would have to be a sense of "cause and effect". If I did a kiss: this would happen. If I had sex with this person: this would happen... And, even in differing situations, it's different for every person. And, every combination of people.

I'd have both, but neither is important.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

Kisses for sure! They can be romantic, they can cure owies, they can just be a friendly hello. Sex isn't that versatile...unless you're a bonobo.;)

It all comes down to personal thoughts and feelings, but you can just go out and have sex with anyone. Kisses are usually reserved for family, friends ( depending on how friendly you are), and romance.

A lot of threesome/group sex arrangements feature the "no kissing" rule.

yeah, that was the rule in 'pretty woman' too, until richard gere's character fell for julia roberts' character then they kissed and lived happily ever after.
