Has anyone here (particularly people who like to post sermons) ever had someone come to them- at first they seem eager to take up Jediism but then they fall away very quickly? Or known anyone like that? It's disappointing when it happens; there are some who start on a truly rich and rewarding path, but when it doesn't give them what they want right away they forsake it without even really trying.

I have seen that a few times.
I just hope that they find what it is they are looking for. Jediism, like any religion, is not for everyone. No matter how wonder I or anyone else feels it is. In all religions, they only work for the individual if that individual can feel the connection with it and have faith or believe what is at the core of the religion. Granted, many times we are swayed by one thing or another in the beginning but our long term success with any said belief structure will boil down to our understanding of it and its teachings.

Yeah, happens all the time...just have a look in the Journals section and see how many people have started a journal, made one or two posts, and then vanished into thin air...

But I don't see it as failure of the person either - as Wescli said, Jediism is not for everyone and as such people should not feel as though they have to stay here and learn if they don't want to.

I certainly don't see it as failure of the Force. The Force isn't consciously trying to turn people into Jedi...so how could it succeed or fail?Sajjad Heydari wrote: Is that failure of the Force or failure the follower?

Who says it is a failure?
If I tell you that "the bowl is hot", do you not feel it for yourself?
SO, if they study about "The Hero's Adventure", maybe they need time to absorb it, or go practice it...
Sure, you could look at it as a failure...
Or, you could look at it as, "I found something more interesting, and decided to go that route"...
Who are we to tell people this is important, and that it matters? It is to us, but that doesnt make it important to all...
Christianity is important to many, but not us...
All we can do is wish them well on their journey...

NOTHING IS GREATER THAN THE FORCE. It is therefore impossible for them to find something more interesting. We have failed to save them from their evil ways, and now because of that, when they die instead of becoming one with the Force, they're going to rot in the dark side.
