Premonitions
I had this feeling right before the tsunami hit Japan. For days I had a weird feeling of impending doom. Strange dreams filled my head at night and I just could feel danger on a large scale, It wasn't a personal feeling but distant and faint like a glimpse of sun at dawn. Sure enough I awoke that morning and immediately went on the computer to check the news and it was first page, we all know what happened after that.
Lately I have been getting the same feeling, but this one is of war. I don't mean the type of war that we've experienced in our own life times, but full out total war. The future is always in motion and these just could be fleeting feelings I am mis-interpreting but if you been following what has been going on in the middle east recently, the fleets heading to Iran, political unrest, and economic turmoil it is the perfect formula for war. The will of the force is strange indeed( if there is a will or if it just "is" but that is another topic" let us work together so that one day we can discuss our problems in council rather than fight them out in war.
Anyways I was hoping you could share your own personal experiences with premonitions, may the force be with you all.

When they happen they can look like normal dreams but feel different enough to wake up knowing that was 'interesting'. Unfortunately even with those, most do not seem to mean anything specific enough to action on, and sometimes I never find any association, but when it does it seems too accurate to be random because it has happened too often now for me.

Haven't had one in a while though, too busy lately trying to communicate with deceased gurus
I blame Alderaan's untimely end. Ever since old Ben heard a thousand voices cry out when I was a kid, I've tried to interpret my own dreams for information... curse you Grand Moff Tarkin.

This is off topic, but why would you want to communicate with dead gurus? I guarantee they'd tell you to find wisdom within yourself, not from "outside" sources.

On a more serious note...haha
I've said this here before but one of the strongest premonitions I received was when I was working outside in my backyard and I just knew my 1 year old was going to fall into my pool. My 1 year old had never fallen into the pool before, but that day just felt different.
I watched him like a hawk that morning (I always watched him anyway, but even more so that day) and sure enough, that little boy fell in. I was able to get to him in about 2-3 seconds and pulled him out.
I don't know why I got that premonition. But I'll take it and move on....

But on the topic of the Force having Will, I will say only this: The Force can be said, correctly, to have a will, in the same way that the full moon is said to have brightness. Take from that what you will.

Some teachings are oral transmission apparantly, it worked with Gampopa (or at least I fooled myself to the experience). I only remember the experience of it happening and so I don't remember any of the detail which means I'll still have to find it within myself :pinch:

Deja Vu has always been an interesting topic to me. I, too, have experienced the kind of "living this again" experience that you describe.Resticon wrote: I wouldn't say that I have ever experienced anything quite like what you all have been talking about but I do experience an awful lot of Deja-Vu. Not in the sense that something is slightly familiar to me but rather that every once in a while I will be doing something random and I will remember feeling like I've lived this moment already. Often times that feeling continues for several minutes before it fades. Don't really know what to make of it because I've never been particularly superstitious or anything. I typically just shrug it off and chalk it up to a faded memory. Just always been one of those nagging feelings in the back of my mind.
All of us exist in more than just three dimensions. What we call time is actually another dimension of space, misperceived (intentionally) as a flowing or changing of the characteristics contained within lesser dimensions, i.e. 3D space. This is why modern science views space and time as interdependently linked in a single continuum. The Force is timeless, and thus connects us with the past and future in a way that is spatial and not temporal.
Everyone dreams, but most people don't remember what they dream once they wake up, at least not consciously. But the memories are still there. When we dream, the veil between our conscious minds and the Force becomes thinner, or is lifted outright. Thus, sometimes what we dream is really an experiencing through the Force of "future" spatial versions of ourselves and surrounding circumstances. Often when we experience Deja Vu, what is happening is that we are remembering the future, as it is becoming the present.
Such a thing is no less of a Force gift than having a waking vision. The next step, if we wish to take it, is in finding actions, such as regularly recording our dreams, that will bring dream experiences of the future more into our conscious awareness. As always, YMMV.
