Quite simply its made up, an invention for a fictional movie, ie. does not exist within current body of universal scientific knowledge of humanity - as far as I know. In the sense it does exists, it does so only in the fiction and not beyond the fiction.

It just sounds like they looked into a cell for something important and found the mitochondria and came up with a similar sounding fake name.

What could the name mean... I dunno. Is anyone any good at languages? I'd guess the prefix 'mid' might mean middle or inbetween and chlorian could mean green which might be synonymous with physical life (nature). In that definition then they could represent the fictional element which connects the physical to the non-physical.

I like your definition and explanation of the word midichlorian.It give me some sense of the origin of the word.

My definition of the wold midichlorian it is to specify the origin of the life inside of you.That mean believing of you inside in with is inside of you and surrounds you what live around you and inside your force .

I have no interest in discussion of fictional animals, so i would have nothing positive to add to the convo. Midicholorians as a metaphor is much more interesting to me but apparently that is not the subject at hand.

for a jedi everything that is a positive effect to learn the to any provenance of life and every walk of life and every part of life or any kind of learning experience is there to make progress any one who want to learn the positive side of the force.
