Lupercal…
From personal experience the “cleaner” you eat, the better you will feel overall. In today’s world of chemicals, additives, artificial colorings, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides and what ever else you care to add to the list of garbage that ends up in our food, logic dictates you would fair much better to eliminate as much of it from your daily consumption as you can. It is hard to say how many illnesses, diseases, and conditions stem from our food. I am guessing most.
Whether you are a meat eater or a raw vegan it would be wise to eat the lifestyle you choose the best way you can. Your overall health is very important and no one should make those decisions for you. Do the research, know where your food comes from.
My personal experience is the better I eat the better I feel. The sharper my mind is and also my perceptions. If I sway and eat less healthy food I feel weighed down and sometimes like I am living with a fog over my eyes. Personally I eat mostly vegan (not 100% of the time but dang close). I am now growing most of my own foods and also tend to buy from farmers markets when I can. At a market you can learn to know the growers and find out how they grow, and how heavy they rely or don’t rely on chemicals.
Most people do not realize how their food effects them. A challenge that I took a few years ago was to eat 100% raw vegan for 30 days. That is raw fruits and veggies only and water. A lot of veggie and fruit smoothies, tons of salads also. Those 30 days changed my life. Almost as much as the last 20 years meditating has.
The mind is what we all wish to hone, but your body is your minds vehicle. Keep the vehicle running smooth and it will greatly help you with your mind studies.
Of course this is all just my opinion and you can follow whatever path you choose.

Did you mix your arbatus and raw onions during that 30 days?
If you did it is certaint that you have damaged your health sevearly

Are you refering to arbutus? If so no, that is not common in the USA, or at least not that I am aware of. In fact my wife is not a fan of raw onion so we actually did not eat any in those 30 days. I eat raw green onion in raw mango salsa(and salsa in general). Now I am making myself hungry
Anyone out there interested in eating raw, do some google searches, there are a lot of good sites on the subject.
As to health, I feel better now at 48 than I have most of my life. And I do attribute that to my changes in diet and increase in exercise.
peace.

Nor have I. Arbutus must be what Jackofalltrades is refering to. Least that is my conclusion.

Of course I'm refering to that (tsk!)
Infact i think the only reason you are doubting what I am refering to is becuause you have not avoided your soft-shelled turtle and apricot with your domestic duck!

As a raw vegan I shy away from turtle and duck.

I agree with Omni a bit. Eating foods without all these chemicals in 'em is important. Where Omni and I differ is the meat part. I love me a medium-rare deer steak cooked with onions and green peepers fresh out of the garden. Mmmmmmmmmhmm. Of course...a hotdog here and there ain't going to kill ya either.
I also agree with Desolous. Don't eat babies. lol

I find eating living things or on occasion things that haven't been dead for more than a day or so is the way to go.
If you have ever eaten a slaughtered animal recently, it is amazing. Your still getting alot of life force with it.
I also noticed a HUGE change when I started expressing gratitude to the living things I ate. (Fruit vegtables etc, an occasional baby slips in there when I get REALLY hungry...)
I read about a very interesting prayer. Since speaking the prayer to everything that I eat, food agrees with me and tastes better. My body reacts better to it too.
"Thank you for your life. It will become apart of my life. One day, my death will provide your kind with food and nourishment."
Who doesn't eat baby toes? They are spectacular.
