should or shouldn't are strange words for a jedi, becuase I have the ally of the force itself. I can follow it's will and not be too concerned by a strict set of rules that I have to obey.

Interestingly that makes me much better at obeying my master, because we do not have to think to deeply about regulations and the like. Just my to republic Credits :P

Edit: what with people using word play and the like, you can end up thinking should...litterally with a poisitive image, about things that are probably not suitable. or shouldn't about things that are the will of the force.

You shouldn't eat anything you wish not to eat, for whatever reason (ie. wanting to lose weight, etc),
You shouldn't drink anything you wish not to drink, for whatever reason (ie. lessening or quitting alcohol consumption, etc),

These things are only regulated by your intuition for what you feel is better for you and what you are personally ready to remove from your consumption.

A Jedi may do well to not only learn how to improve their body personally, by learning their body and learning what it needs, but also to learn how to take action on the knowledge gained to actually better their body for their own good.

This is up to the individual though.

Like all things, balance and moderation are necessary in order to maintain balance and a healthy environment. As a jedi (and a rower/runner/soccer player), I realize the importance of properly nourishing yourself based off of the activities you take part in. Unlike some traditional and older religions, there is no specific food list in which we can determine what to eat and what to avoid. Alcohol and pork (although banned or frowned upon by certain religions) are perfectly fine when it comes to nutrition options and you are not restricted to any religious forms of diet. The Force is a vessel of pure life, spirit and energy. To deny yourself these things by refusing to eat certain foods would be hypocritical of jedi, who typically accept and value all things in life. Hopefully this helps :)

Paint chips and gasoline. I'm being for real. You could die.

But, to continue being real, albeit more realistic (I know you wouldn't eat paint chips- right? ;) ) like Proteus and Lorian said, it's your choice what you eat, although whatever you do eat/drink should be taken in moderation. And I think it's important to note that moderation is different for different things- drinking 5-6 glasses of water a day generally isn't harmful (actually it's beneficial- stay hydrated!), but drinking 5-6 glasses of soda or alcohol would be considered quite harmful.

So yes, as Jedi there are no dietary rules we have to follow, but as human beings who would like to stay healthy I think it's advisable to eat a sensible diet. As to what a sensible diet is, that changes depending on who you are talking to, but most everyone would agree it involves eating a variety of fruits, veggies, carbs, protein, diary, and fat (more of the former rather than the latter). If you're at risk for diabetes make sure most of the carbohydrates you eat are low glycemic index

Another thing to consider is trying to find out if you have any dietary sensitivities or allergies. Everyone knows that some people have life threatening allergic reactions to some things, but even having a sensitivity to a food which you have no symptoms for can over time cause damage to your intestines/bowels which can lead to more serious problems later in life such as Autoimmune diseases. The trick is finding out, as in my experience the tests are not necessarily always accurate.

A Jedi :

he/she Drinks a whiskey drink
he/she Drinks a vodka drink
he/she Drinks a Lager drink
he/she Drinks a Cider Drink

while doing so, one should also sing the songs that remind you of the good times,
as well as singing the songs that remind you of the bad times.

Just remember to get back up again, if you get knocked down.

It's not so much what jedi eat, it's the certain combinations at the same time.

This is for real so please don't laugh.

There are a great number of foods that should not be eaten together,
I record here the essentials.
When eating pork you should avoid ginger, buckwheat noodles, corriander, dried peas, plums, beef, venison, soft-shelled turtle, crane and quail.
With beef you should avoid eating millet, leeks, ginger and chestnuts.
When eating rabbit, you should avoid eating raw vegetables, chicken,
pheasant and shrimp.
With chiken and chicken eggs you should avoid eating mustard,
garlic, raw ongions, glutinous rice, apricots, fish soup, carp, rabbit, otter, soft-shelled turtle, and pheasant.
When eating pheasant, you should avoid buckwheat noodles, Jew's
ear, walnuts crucian carp, and catfish.
With wild duck, avoid walnuts and Jew's ear.
With domestic duck, avoid apricot and soft-shelled turtle.
With sparrow, avoid apricots and salted meat.
with crucian carp, avoid mustard, leeks, sweets, venison, celery,
chicken, and pheasant.
When eating fish sushi, avoid miso, raw barley, garlic, and green peas.
With soft-shelled turtle, avoid amaranthus greens, mustard greens,
plums, and domestic duck.
When eating crab, avoid persimmons, manderin oranges and chi-
nees dates
With apricots avoid honey.
With bitter oranges, and mandarin oranges, avoid otter.
With chineese dates, avoid leeks.
With loquats, avoid hot noodles.
With Arbutus, avoid raw onions.
With all melons, avoid oily dumplings, and rice cakes.
With millet and rice, avoid honey.
Cooking green peas with Japaneese nutmeg can cause Death <---!
With bracken, avoid aramanthus.
Do not cook dried bamboo shoots with sugar.
Do not cook carp with beefsteak, shiso stems, or shiso leaves.
With catfish, avoid melons, and cold water.
With vinegared meat avoid white muskmelon. Hair on vinigared
meat is not healthful.
With miso and raw barley, avoid honey.
You should not eat pepper with plums, apricots, or arbutus.
Finaly, it is said that pumpkin should not be eaten together with catfish.

So there you have it. If any of you jedi have an upset stomach it may be because you have been mixing your soft-shelled turtle and amaranthus greens.

This is excelent health advice from a good source I assure you!

I aggree. infact i'm frowing on it right now. I wissh you could see me frowning so you could get an Idea of what type of "frowing apon" Desolous is refering to.

However, it's ok to eat the eggs. quails eggs that is. but not the quail BABIES that come from quails eggs. I know it would be hard to know wether there is a quail insde waiting to hatch, but just use your judgment and everything will be fine. it's possible that you would starve to death if you didn't eat a quail that you had inadvertantly liberated prematurely from an egg. But I think this is an example of the third principle to not elevate the self above the mission.
