Currently there are two Security Officers at your service. JLSpinner and Senan (that's me!).
Primarily, we are here to assist the Administration with the inner workings of TOTJO, to assist with monitoring posts, chat comments and threads, and to keep disturbances and policy violations to a minimum. Our goal is to maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community while still allowing for robust and engaging conversation to take place. There are many different ways of going about this and much of it will be up to the discretion of the one moderating, but more often than not we will simply warn someone of a violation, refer them to the site rules and terms of service , and possibly edit the offending post or chat comment. Generally this is done to remove excessive profanity, vulgar language, pornographic images, threatening language, or illegal materials. On rare occasion we might have to suspend an account for a time or ban someone all together, but this action is reserved for spammers or the most egregious behavior. We try to be consistent with our actions and stay out of the conversation as much as possible.
If you should ever need assistance from a Security Officer, you can send both of us a Private Message and we will respond as soon as possible. All correspondence will remain private. Should it be an urgent matter, any Knight here can assist in the chat rooms and all Councillors (Br. John, Alexandre Orion, Rosalyn J, Adhara, MadHatter) and Knight Advisers (JLSpinner, Kit, Senan) have the ability to moderate in the forum. Site Administrators (ren and Tellahane) also have moderation access, but it is their job to handle the form and function of the actual site, not to worry about content. It is always best to start with the Security Officers.
Any action taken by a Security Officer or Moderator is recorded in a Moderator Log including screen shots and any other evidence necessary to explain why the action was taken. Should you ever question the actions of a Security Officer or Moderator, you can contact any other Councillor or Officer and the situation will be reviewed. If the action is deemed unnecessary, the post or comment will be restored to it's original state and any other actions will be reversed. We do our best to be fair and objective, but we are also human and sometimes we will have errors in judgment. We are not above admitting our mistakes and it is always our intention to treat everyone here equally.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them here in this thread or PM myself or JLSpinner and we'll be happy to assist.
Humbly at your service,
~Senan

Ive noticed a whole of locked threads lately. Seen references to a lot of edits. Im one of those who has been "haunting these halls for a while" and remembering my own experience, i can only imagine how much more there is which cant be seen because its just gone. "We silence you to protect you" lol Thanks Big Brother.
Careful. They will lock this thread and only let the admins post in it!
It's quite easy to make sarcastic remarks instead of striving to understand the others' points of views. (That said, I find your sarcasm funny

There is also a difference between being the "opposing" voice and lashing out indiscriminately. One is surely capable of offering a compelling point of view without resorting to foul language or personal attacks.
Nami, your issue was dealt with badly. Please don't leave.
Zenchi, if you are feeling annoyed by others' expectations not being met, I suggest you either DO remain silent, or work on more effective communication. Tough love doesn't well with everyone.

I understand their point of view quite well, I just dont agree with it. And when direct aggression fails to work, the next best thing is defiant passive aggression.
