@tzb: Thank you. When I posted the original post last night I was at a low point but I'm doing a bit better this morning.

@Karn: I am not looking for formal counseling, I think expecting that from an online environment would be wrong in some levels, especially given that structured counseling outside the internet has failed. As for July 4th, a large series of fireworks exploded near my house, shaking it and my wobbly bookshelf, I spun my computer chair into and it fell on me bringing on a full panic mode. In Afghanistan I was dumped down an elevator shaft and left for dead and it brought back something I guess you could call a flashback. Thank you for being willing to talk to me.

I think what I am looking for here is some sort of mentorship on being a Jedi despite adversity we face at times IRL. Guidance on how to tackle the issues such as poor sleep or finding ways to center myself when I am in distress through experience would be a good way to start. I'm sure I may know how to tackle these things on my own but doing so on my own has not gleaned much in terms of results. Perhaps I am just looking for an accountability partner to help guide me towards my goals in the process.... I really do not know. Last night when I made this original post I was in a terrible place and now after some sleep I am in a much better mood and able to take on the day. Just getting past those periods of distress is what I need to find.

My man ! Life is full .
Ima old combat 68w Mike 6 indicated! Lol boy nurse for those who don't speak the jargon.
Been deployed many times on many different ... Missions. Real ones. No fobbit itis here brother real brown bones real blood spilled real life . Still sore, still in pain , still mentally and physically as well as spiritually tired brother. Pull up a chair and sit your feet up. Strait from me ... Sgt Martinez... Lol "
what we do after the fight is up to us".

Today I see brothers and sisters who never mentally read their dd2.. 14 that says your out . To many of us stay mentally in.... With all rules that don't apply to us any more. Mentally .. Too. If u ever see u got a problem say somthimg , no one will go out to ask you , we are so smart yet we treat ourselfs like we are dumb , and most of the time we believe what we "tell ourself". .. That guy .... That guy keeps us in places and ideas that don't exist any more and that guy , that guy , is the toughest when we realize he's there. Or she lol . Your that guy is the soldier soul the Warriors heart the servant a will in action , call it what ever u need , that guy , we all got , that guy needs to be helped.

The help I got with my exact problems ...when I became my own first Sgt .. Mentally .. I did my checks and my balances and kept my mind active , rarely lamenting ... More Planting and sowing ... Actively making new things for me to do... Read a stack of comics ... Organize my room. Cloths ... Always somthimg to iorn. Insert real life for you. The real life healing came when I put that guy to work. I didn't give him room or time to milky grub ... As one CO put it ... Ideal hands bro ... Ideal hands unravel things.
This is what helped me . I hope even one tenth of anything here from this is a help. This stuff is real brother. Some get it some don't some won't . Carry on and keep seeking the Force ... We share it more than you know ! We may not call it by the same names but hey from one bet to another ... We survived we made it . Hide your light under a bush ?
All my love and hope from me strait to you ! I mean none of this in any harm what so ever , we as Vets have a way of cutting to the quick and I applologise if some of the above cuts to that quick . Strictly meant for this one person, fell free to use it as much as you like but this was intended directly for my brotha! Sal be well and keep your head up and your light shining .... Fan it !!!! Feed it , don't keep it hid

Ps give that guy his time too , he won't crowd the stage or steal the Mike give that guy... His time too. I give my that guy moments to shine with all the proper pride and dignity! I also drink with that guy , he's fun! He's me ! Balance is always needed . Wouldn't you agree ?

I've done about 17 years of weekly therapy... I have approximately one million grounding techniques, including some for use especially during dissociation (ie, flashbacks and such). If you (or anyone, for that matter) think they may be helpful, please pm! I'm happy to share them.

If you need someone in person, I am trained in Peer Support. I know we've tried to meet up in the past, and it just didn't work out. But I AM still just down the road in Pelzer, and willing to travel.

my suggestion would be to find a peer support group in your area, probably veterans with PTSD would be the best fit. group therapy and group support is powerful.. a professional migth not be the best fit but others who are going through and have gone through similar experiences will likely be much more beneficial..

People are complicated.

US Army Infantry here. I have a friend who is a marine and dealing with PTSD after he got blown up in Afghanistan by friendlies with incendiaries. He may be of assistance. Also have a mom who was a major in med core US Army and she's devoted her retirement to helping vets. We get a lot of vets in Jediism and also in Rainbow family gatherings. Funny how that works, but here we all are. I know what it's like to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger... only to realize it wasn't loaded and then in the time it takes to load it I realized I wanted to live. Just a few seconds and a couple thoughts is all it takes. If I can give you one thought to take away from here it's this: We love you! Welcome home brother.

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

Hi Sulabri.

You sound disappointed and resigned to me. To me it seems as if you are looking for something different than what you have tried so far. I feel, like you need some goal for yourself, something you can put all your energy and passion into without becoming too involved without being stressed in any way. Maybe this is the reason you signed up here? I suggest you search deep inside your soul what it is you are really looking for. You will probably find a deep need for love but this is not what I am talking about right now. Try to find a thing that really hits you, that makes you passionate and become an expert at it. Start to - grow - again. Growth is what you need, people told you to lose weight, to get smaller, to adapt, to diminish symptoms ... and so on. Try to find something that makes you - grow.

You must unlearn what you have learned.
