The Jedi focus on living in the Now. This is an extremely difficult thing to do, especially since our country (the U.S.) is in so much turmoil right now. Be patient and calm your fears. I am with you and I believe our country will make it through this as it has so much in the past. It you need to talk, I am here. If you need to vent, I am here. Need a friend, I am here. I understand the genuine fear that some may have right now and in this case, emotion is the enemy. We, as a people, will make it...I promise! There are those that love our President-Elect and there are those that literally hate the President-Elect. Fighting and violence is not the answer at this time in our history. We need to pull together and make this a better country for each of us. No, we will NOT agree on everything. Yes, we CAN put those differences aside and move forward.
May the Force be with you all

Well said my friend. Let's try to work with what we've been given, not complain about what cannot be changed. May the Force be with us all. :)

Why don't we see if we can all find one positive thing to say about him and one thing you think he'll imrpove. This may be hard for some, as I know at least one of you endorses an assassination of the President Elect. But I admire his courage and blunt certainty, he's better than Bush, and I think he will make sure that nobody like him and Reagan are ever elected again.

You mean you think he will do such a good job they will give the job to him permanently and there will be no more elections?

Okay, playing devils advocate here. The one thing trump has is he has failed enough times to learn to succeed. 2 as most high level business directors do, they tend to understand how to surround themselves with competent people who get things done. I don't think you quite grasp how little power the president has beyond stalling legislation, and appointing supreme court justices. To be honest, I don't think much will actually get done anyway (the systems of government here are so bloated that simple change is difficult to make as is) and if it does, here in the US it's just different paths to the same conclusion. As far as the assassination thing goes, that would be a terrible terrible thing as it would literally begin a second civil war here in the US; there is too much vitriol on each side for that to bring any unity like the Kennedy or Lincoln assassination. Silas, you know I gotta throw out some counter points, helps the critical thinking on my side and maybe the other.

P.S. Not really happy about the choice of a turd or a turd with taupe. Now that we have the turd with taupe we can only wait and see what happens, shall rights be taken from some than other like myself will stand (or fight)to get them back. There is a lot more moderates, anarchist, and libertarians in this country than the world media will tell you because we tend to stay quite until something particularly wrong happens. The issue is understanding when to act.

"This is OUR country. It doesn't belong to the 535 members of Congress, or the President, or the 9 Supreme Court Justices, or even the Wall Street bankers. NO, this is OUR country, "We the people of the United States"! If there is change to come; we must make it. When hard times come (and they will come); we must be the ones who help each other through it!

Our first step is to prepare for the hard times to come. It is time to study our grandparents and great-grandparents, to see how they survived the Great Depression. We must learn the skills that they had; that many have forgotten; like how to grow a garden; how to can food for the winter; how to sew; how to repair things that are broken (instead of going to the store and buying new)."

Trump wants to put and end to foreign lobbyists and governments financing US election campaigns. And prevent US politicians from doing the same to other countries.

Also I think a wall would do mexico a lot of good, a lot more for them than the US. They dont have the resources of the US, have monstrous criminals walking in and out as they wish and a huge influx of illegal US guns into their country. I also find it staggering that [strike]"liberals"[/strike] righteous assholes believe hard working mexicans willing to risk their lives to provide for their families are somewhat of better use to mexican society outside of mexico.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

You got it 100%, learn to produce clean water, grow food, travel without roads (I love hiking with my gear pack equal to the weight of 200 rds. 762x54, my mosin M-44 scoped, 100 rds .45 colt on the holster, and 300rds 9mm for the Bretta Cx4 storm) live without technology that you cannot fix yourself, learn to use weapons in tempered and responsible manner. I do not wish violence, however, as history shows when an aristocracy exists any form of government becomes oppressive, peaceful breaking of chains is seldom possible. As father taught me of fire arms, "I teach you to use these in the hopes that you may never have to." (he was referring to pistols and beyond target shooting ect, for reference he is a Vietnam Vet) "I have seen enough killing, I still think of those I killed, I don't want you to have to", he said this to me as I signed up for the Marine Corps, I got medically disqualified anyway but I could see his point. I hope it does not go that far here and that the better angels of our nature will bind us together. The future cannot be seen so let us be vigilant in this moment as signs of the future often are hidden in the backgrounds of moments both good and bad.
