What brings you back?

What brings you back? was created by
This is a question that we should all ask ourselves every once in a while. I'm sure that we all think about it in regards to other people, but how often do we ask it of ourselves. What brings us back here? Why do we open our computers and establish that connection and click Login? What is it about this place that brings us back for more?
I am in no way asking this as a way to get people to leave. There's not a person here who I want to have leave, and I mean that. I just think that it's important to ask ourselves this question. Participation here is entirely voluntary, so what keeps us volunteering to spend our time here? Time is short and precious so what we do with it should always bee something we think about.
If you feel like sharing here please do so. If you would prefer to answer in your journal that's cool too. If you'd prefer not to answer at all that's also cool. You can just think on it.

Me? Three things bring me back. The Doctrine, the training, and the family. Not necessarily in that order.
The Doctrine here is amazing. I love the inclusiveness, the openness, and yes, the vagueness that allows for individual interpretation. The Doctrine is what drew me in to start with.
I love being asked questions about it. I love being told to look at myself and really think about me. What do I believe? Why do I believe it? Does something else make more sense? Am I a good person? What makes a good person? All the stuff I get from the training I'm currently going through here.
There are many people here with whom I really have made a new family. They quite honestly are the biggest reason I come back here day after day. They help remind me of the other stuff that I love here. When things start to look dark they are the light guiding me to safe harbor. Thank you all for that.
I keep coming back and I'm going to keep coming back.

What brought me here: Interest in this 'Jedi' thing I kept hearing about.
What brought me back: The fantastic level of discussion that takes place here on everything from religion to politics to tacos. I don't know anyone offline that I could have these kinds of discussions with.
What really keeps me here: The people, I have made many great friends here over the past 12 months (and even had a chance to meet a few of them which was, and still is, some of the most fun I've ever had)

YOU, brother!
The people here keep me coming back.
I enjoy the training and I want to be a better Jedi. A huge part of this for me is interacting with so many different people from different places and perspectives. People here challenge me, each in their own ways. I can read the books and answer the questions, but it wouldn't be the same without the Jedi here who constantly ask "but why do you feel that way?"

Ditto I enjoy the company of most everyone and the discussions. Especially the ones that make me think about different stuff.

The people, the fact that I consider this my refuge, the community. I love being here.

What has to come ? Will my heart grow numb ?
How will I save the world ? By using my mind like a gun
Seems a better weapon, 'cause everybody got heat
I know I carry mine, since the last time I got beat

What brought me back after a year of nothingness and life's tribulations is that the lessons, I learned there are reflected from the sources of knowledge (you guys) here. Perhaps had I not exiled myself it I would have learned them through reading or discussion or I would not have; as sometimes experiences teach us well, but when added with others words can place them in the frame of understanding. Plus it's a lot of people who are like minded. Plus you know the force is not really something accepted as a main belief but there is no judgment here on that view.
