Thanks everyone. I think reading the Joseph Campbell interview before I watched it helped me find a healthier way to face this emotionally than if I had never started on the Jedi path. I've got an incredible local support team, and an equally amazing extended support team. People I've never met, or haven't spoken to in years are coming out of the woodworks to wish me well and say their piece, but I am ready for the trials ahead. I'm still young and hale, and I have every intention to beat this thing.

Best wishes on your treatment and recovery!!!!!

I agree with you on pain, it does really offer a chance to change oneself. The mind seems to become drenched in that energetic awareness by exposure to the constant signalling in the pain pathways of the nervous system - which makes me think that once the pain is over that maybe could be used as an opportunity to empower perception more generally. I try to channel it into imagination in such a way to reinforce actual perception - by overlaying 3d wireframe imagination over my vision of actual scenes, then shutting my eyes and trying to see the wireframe model, then opening and comparing them
:silly:
It's probably more useful to do things closer to ones body then further away, as then movement can be integrated to link in the whole proprioceptive architecture with the imagination and visualization. All that can be done without having to endure pain first, but I find pain a good way to force detachment of the mind from the mundane, and therefore perhaps a way to make it useful considering you have to endure it.
:(
Get well soon!!!!

I hear you staying strong and staying positive, accepting what is to come with no illusions, and it reminds me that those are the qualities of survivors. My thoughts are with you.

Magnus, I cannot fathom what you are going through, but I wish you the best. Half the battle is in the mind, and you've already conquered that with your positive outlook. Stay strong!

The realist adjusts the sails.

If you can make it to 2020, we may have the tech to save you. Until then you can save yourself by starving the cancer through your diet and attacking it with cannabinoids. I, personally, would avoid any cancer-causing treatments like chemotherapy. Good luck on your journey. I remember when I found out I had 2 years to live back in 2000 and here I am one of my doctor's healthiest patients on-track to make it into my 80's(in about 40yrs).

Peace

I'm adding cannabinoids to my regimen soon, but I have Testicular cancer. I appreciate the concern, but I've chosen my party in this. Testicular cancers are the most curable cancers in existence using standard treatments.

oic. It looks like smoking cannabis "may" increase the risk of getting testicular cancer but if you've already got it... I don't know enough and the research is fuzzy on that one. Need a literature review of google scholar etc.

" I have every intention to beat this thing."

That's the only attitude you need to beat this. You'll always have balls if you always have an indomitable spirit.

KICK ASS MAN! KICK ASS!!!! :) :woohoo:

I've decided to use this as my transformation. I'm going to wane, I'll be tired and nauseous regularly, my immune system is going to be compromised, there's all kinds of restrictions to follow to make sure I don't expose my family to all my bodily fluids, yet through it all I'll be building myself up mentally and spiritually. So that once I've died going through the agony of these drugs, I'll be resurrected transformed, greater than I was when I went into it.

Just sharing where I'm at. I know I'm not on here as much as I used to be, and I'm still a novice, but there you have it.

That's a tough ride brother, and I'm sending good thoughts your way.

I see you've checked out the JC stuff. If I may make a suggestion, you should check out Alan Watts and Carl Jung as well. IMO, they're the holy trinity of Jediism. The guys who make south park did some great animations of Watts stuff, you should check those out as well. They're very entertaining.

I'd suggest books too, but that could take all night.

Anyway, get well and I wish the best to you and your family.
