(NSFW)You may have heard of/seen the popup art installment called "The Emperer Has No Balls" If you haven't, here is the official video of the creation:

It's blown up my Facebook feed thanks to the multitude of SJWs in my community, conflicted over whether they like it because it mocks Trump, but also fighting the fact that it's (and these are all complaints I've actually seen in my feed) body shaming, fat shaming, small penis shaming, ageist, and shaming men who have no balls (such as trans men).

But aside from all that (or maybe not?) What do you think of this piece of artwork?

It's a funny statue, but the funniest thing of all that came from that stunt is courtesy of NYC Parks (toward the bottom):

Update 4:29 p.m.: Parks Department spokesperson Sam Biederman provided us with the following statement regarding the Trump statue:
"NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small."

i have a lot of character flaws Leah Starspectre. one of them is that i can be pretty mean spirited sometimes

petty, mean, venomous even

its something i have come to really be unhappy about in regards to my own self judgement and its all i can do to get a handle on my owneanness, so i dont really want to celebrate, or even look at someone elzes, and thats what i see here

i dont care for trump and i consider this the most depressing election of my life so far, but its not my wish to celebrate an act of meanness, even at his expense, because it taps on the lowest part of my own character to do so

thats just my opinion, i dont blame anyone for seeing things differently

People are complicated.

So you would not consider it art, but pure spitefulness?

Do you consider it art? Do you consider other stuff these delinquents do art? If defacing public property and breaking into govt facilities and the exploitation of the homeless can be considered artwork then I guess you could consider this art as well. However if you don't, then its not even about spitefulness, its just attention mongers trying to get another laugh at someone else's expense. These guys are nothing more than juvenile, heartless hooligans and I find it a questionable act to even propagate this and ask that question.

I don't see this as any more spiteful than another piece of anti-[someone] art. It portrays Trump unfavourably, yes. But let's be honest here: he's a 70-year-old man. He probably looks closer to this than a chiseled Beef Manslab. For all our advancements in the 21st century we still have a tendency to put our prospective leaders on a pedestal, believing that they will deliver us from all wrongs and make everything right. Or make those things "great again."

In reality, he's just a man. Beneath the persona - the meme - that gets put out in public, groomed by his campaign advisors, he's likely just as flawed and broken and ugly as anyone else. People forget that. Similarly, beneath that expensive tailored suit and the make-up he wears for the cameras, he probably doesn't look that great. I don't want to imagine it. I think this art conveys an exaggerated version of that. (Though, I'm not sure they got the hand size right.) Additionally, it targets what I've noticed is a favoured attribute of the alt-right and other Trumpists: hyper-masculinity.

Still think the funniest part of the entire thing is what the NYC Parks spokesman said, though.

I do consider it a form of art. It's a crafted piece meant to inspire, enrage, inquire, mock, shock...and more. Its purpose is to cause a reaction in people who witness it. Which I think it does quite effectively. I'm not familiar the rest of their work, though, but should past art pieces have any bearing on current artwork? Are they part of a series?

Is it morally right? That's not for me to judge. As all artists do, they had their own reasons to create it. But is that moral ambiguity why you feel there's no value in discussing is, or that it shouldn't be shared? Or are you feeling a knee-jerk reaction to a brazen statement piece which mocks your favoured candidate? Do you feel the same about political cartoonists?

Over all I find it as crass and pointless as the p*$$ Christ artwork. Further the people that made it are criminals that call defacing others property art so that sort of biases me against it. In short for me its a nonentity. The only thing it makes me think of is how if someone did that exact same thing to Hillary the SJW community would freak out and cry sexism. So maybe it points out the hypocrisy of one side? IDK its basically a meh display of crass nothingness in my opinion. But as art is entirely subjective whats my opinion matter?
