Well, I guess, all I can do is wish you luck with that, lol....

I guess that's what makes the world go around...

I find it interesting, that you wouldn't require a knight to teach, but you would require "basic understanding" of martial arts...

In my opinion, giving someone basic knowledge such as you suggest is dangerous, I taught for 5+ years, and studied for ten... They could possibly hurt themselves, organization by stander, by a poorly executed move.. Not understanding that, just as there is a time to act, there is a time to not act, as well...

What you propose, is not something id recommend, personally....

Classes can be expensive, and qualifed teachers, can assist in endeavors such as ours, (Jedi path), but, they still gotta eat...

Not everyone has a spouse who might help, or is not qualified....

So, you say you would require it, that seems limiting...

But again, just my opinion... lol...

Just talking...:)

Maybe I will change my mind about it.... Maybe you will, lol..

i have no idea how to teach....i just share what i know with others willing to listen, and i listen to those willing to share...

i began sharing before becoming a knight and will continue to share for as long as someone is willing to listen.

i'd never ask anything of someone i wasn't willing to do myself...i firmly believe that if i can do it anyone can do it...

i'll be honest here....i didn't really read this whole thread i just sort of skimmed through it. i didn't want my reply to be colored by anything i read so it'll probably not make any sense in the flow of the discussion...

did i seek out help? i asked a few questions but didn't really pursue the answers, i just sort of "let the force guide me"

did i use my "status"? i don't think i did...i mean i didn't go around saying "i'm a knight so what i say matters" or "i'm a knight so i know more than you" or "respect mah ahthoritah"....lol

body awareness...that's something that must be experienced to fully understand...lol

I think you missunderstand :) I would not require a Knight to Teach. I would however require an Initiate and Apprentice (Or Journeyman by my definitions) to learn the basics of teaching. ;) Learning and doing are two different things :)

In my opinion, giving someone basic knowledge such as you suggest is dangerous

A curious opinion. Don't think I agree with it :) But that is ok.

I taught for 5+ years, and studied for ten... They could possibly hurt themselves, organization by stander, by a poorly executed move.. Not understanding that, just as there is a time to act, there is a time to not act, as well...

I am no stranger to it either ;) I am not saying basics should be chalked up as 'oh you learned how to punch, your a super star now!' It is no different then going to your first class for free and learning a couple moves. The point here is introduction. Not mastery and use.

What you propose, is not something id recommend, personally....

That is what makes us all unique :) And also why communities and groups will never get along and work together. *shrugs*

So, you say you would require it, that seems limiting...

Only because you are not understanding what I mean :) And that is ok too. As you say.....

But again, just my opinion... lol...

Just talking...:)
