The post I linked is the one where I explain the origin of the word "Jedi" (as we know it from Lucas) actually comes from the term jidaigeki, a "period drama" of the genre that Lucas was so fond of. If you need an example of jidaigeki, any of Kurosawa's samurai films will give you the feel, specifically The Hidden Fortress, which greatly inspired the filmmaking techniques used in Star Wars.
Any similarity to any other word, including Djedi, is either coincidental or derivative.

Magick, art, and linguistics, in that order. Fluffy-bunny types rub me the wrong way on about 17 different levels.

Kind of like the Force, Iconic Logo's/ceremonial lightsabers and Philosophical Flim Flam on a internet forum?
Everyone has their own uniqueness and method of finding their spiritual essence. Just because it is not your way, dosn't mean it isn't A way of doing it. The important part is the intentions and how it applies to the Jedi beliefs which is really quite extensive and does include Magick, Art and Lingueistics.
Just my opinion....of course.
