I'm not judging you, I'm being mindful of the activity from the other point of view... and it does sound more like Sand People then Jedi (clearly a reference to the movies).
A proper 'thrust'!? So now my curiosity makes me wonder about it, not judging but yes I do have my own opinions.. it still sounds like a terrible death.
I'd imagine it would be hard to 'slice the heart in two' by throwing a spear and I thought you threw the spear - which I can understand would take skill, but do you trap/chase and stab it!? How do you do it to the big ones, or is it just the small ones? If you do throw them, what percentage of throws 'slice the heart in two'?
Some ways cause pain, some ways take a long time which allows for a fearful death, and some are instant. I think it would fair to use the term barbaric to represent the extent of carelessness and ignorance about the extent of suffering of the animal from the killing.

Jedi Knight
The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidence of the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes of the onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeks impeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. The average man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hooked only to infinity.

No, you don't throw the spear, and yes, there is a chase. You're in danger from their tusks, so it wouldn't do to throw your weapon. The razorbacks I've taken ranged from 200 pounds to 350 pounds. I DO think of things from their perspective - boar in the wild have more of a fighting chance than pigs bred hairless and tuskless in a sterilized facility. I'd rather go down swinging. Also, you referenced crocodile hunting due to overpopulation...the same is true of boar in many places in the US. From coast to coast, overpopulation is worrying both scientists and farmers. Google 'boar overpopulation' if you're interested.
I've said my piece.

I meant pig overpopulation, the only things that eat them here are Croc's and they dont hunt beyond the water very far.
