Boar Spear hunting.
As for me, never been, but would like to.

I'm not the hunting type, but this is an interesting idea.

It sounds interesting to me, I actually have a spear which I can't do much with as knife hunting is illegal in NY

A spear through the chest cavity so you can run out of breath from a collapsed lung and then drown in your own blood, all while a large pole has punched itself through skin, bone and other organs, and a bunch of people cheer and run towards you with knives....

Have you ever seen an animal killed by another animal?
Have you ever watched how the predator rips it's prey apart while it is still alive, squirming around and trying to flee?
Hunting is a savage act, yes. It is far more humane however than the manner in which the majority of other predatory species kill and consume their prey.

Do they have many predator's where you go? I guess the big ones are more lucrative and feared... it's pretty much only Crocodiles here - that is why people are allowed to hunt them (overpopulation). I just think it take more skill to do wildlife photography, you get everything the same as hunting except you don't kill the animal.
It's just sounds more Sand People then Jedi. Though I do think its a skill that should be known, but not practiced unless needed for survival IMO.

Not quite. A proper thrust cuts the heart in two...it dies inside a minute. It doesn't take skill to hack away at the animal - it takes skill to give it a quick, clean death with a spear. Not even a firearm or bow kills as quickly - those methods are only less barbaric for the hunter. Just about the only thing that would kill faster is a cattle punch used in a livestock processing facility. The animal, in that case, has been bred for its specific purpose. Every meal, every comfort, every experience it is allowed to have only prepares it for our consumption - after we pay our four bucks for a pulled pork sandwich, then throw some of it away because it's too big. Very skilled, indeed.
I DO spear hunt. It requires skill, risk, and fortitude. Performance in what is NOT a consequence-free environment. Above all, it is a lesson in appreciation - for teamwork, for the animal, and for the strengths and weaknesses you find in yourself.
Or you could go buy your sandwich. Either way, save judgment on my spear until you've held it.

Because they aren't any more humane, and require less skill?
