Yep...lol...I'll redo something a million times to get it just right....
Warning: Spoiler!
There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

"Singring and the Glass Guitar"
The first line of the song is: "This is an electrified fairytale."

“Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man.” -Zhuangzi
“Though, as the crusade presses on, I find myself altogether incapable of staying here in saftey while others shed their blood for such a noble and just cause. For surely must the Almighty be with us even in the sundering of our nation. Our fight is for freedom, for liberty, and for all the principles upon which that aforementioned nation was built.” - Patrick “Madman of Galway” O'Dell

Oh, oh! How could I forget one of my favorite songs!? "Major Tom (Coming Home)" by Peter Schilling. Or anything with Major Tom in it from David Bowie.

Hi, Naya.
I have a limited understanding of your musical tastes, but I think these songs might make interesting stories. The first two are sci-fi themed, but you could certainly sprinkle in your own fantasy elements. I have no idea what the third song is about, which is why it seemed like a good jumping off point for fiction.
Alice Cooper - Clones ( lyrics )
Gary Numan - Down in the Park ( lyrics ) / Marilyn Manson - Down in the Park ( lyrics ) / Foo Fighters - Down in the Park ( lyrics )
Scissor Sisters - Only the Horses ( lyrics )
Great idea, by the way!

This could actually be a fascinating exercise in storytelling.
Choose six songs. The first song gives you the title and the basic inspiration. The next five become chapters and affect the plot as is doable.

The song Hotel California by the Eagles has potential to incorporate fantasy and future.

One could almost do it with an album! That would be a lot of fun! Especially the more thematic albums like "Some Nights" from Fun and such. That'd be a blast!Williamkaede wrote: This could actually be a fascinating exercise in storytelling.

Good luck to you Naya. I thought of a few suggestions for you.
Rocket Man- Elton John
Space Oddity- David Bowie
2112- Rush (Altough the music is not for everyone, the story line is there. A futuristic world where there is no music controlled by the priest of the temple of Syrinx)

Perhaps one of my favorite concept albums was "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys" by My Chemical Romance. Most of the story was inspired by the cyberpunk author Steve Aylett.
The story takes place in a post apocalyptic California. There is an underlying story in which the world is controlled by a huge corporation called Better Living Industries (BL/ind). A group of outlaws (known as the killjoys) are fighting BL/ind. There were only a few music videos for the album, with a short story. The overall story could go much deeper.
(Think, Blade Runner in 2019 California)
I would highly recommend any of the songs (or even the entire album itself). There is such a great chance for some interesting short stories, and the videos only show a small glimpse.
