Jestor- I think I understand your point.. I don't think drugging is the answer (or at least am very hesitant to accept it as an answer)... I would hope that good therapy and good support would help people whatever the 'issue' through depression, anxiety, nevousness and even violent tendencies with Cookies!

No need to keep quiet when you listen and can produce a reasoned answer (perhaps even if that is reasoned with emotion!) Ty Jestor

Yeah Jestor I agree there is a big problem with labeling people as if they have a disease because then some people will force things on them like little blue pills that perform chemical lobotomies, as in 1984. It wouldn't be a bad idea though to treat it like a vaccine, where everyone gets the same treatment and it's optional.

I'd also like to point out that there may be a form of intellectual self-defense against mental violence.

Is violence a disease? Well, im no expert, but it might as well be...

Lets drug them!!

Lol...

Just being silly...:)

It is a condition if the "disease of mental illness", a result...

As is depression, anxiety, nervousness...

All the drugs do is alleviate the symptoms... Which is good enough for most...

Im not happy with this area of most peoples lives...

Sorry, I should just be quiet!! (Yea, like that will happen)

drug them... violently? XD

THE REVERSAL OF CAUSE AND EFFECTS
I am not a victim of the world I see

It seems to me the Jedi Doctrine, of this Temple, this religion, is based in personal responsibility
I am RESPONSE – ABLE
As i question My own mental reasoning
As I de-bunk my irrational, useless, and fixed thought patterns
As I get out of the blame game
People, Places, Things, Emotions, are not Cause of my personal experience
People, Places, Things, Emotions, are Effects
Mind being Cause . . . Mind moves toward its most dominate thoughts
It is my mind that is Cause
I am Cause
The Reversal of Cause and Effects
Not a magic wand
Not in a minute
A purpose driven journey, a devotion
A practice, a spiritual life
A marriage of the physical realm and spiritual realm
meeting my center
The Force is Known

Should totally watch the following:

I think both fear and violence could be considered contagious. I'd use the term disease to represent infection and impairment of a system. So for it to be a disease the concept of the system would have to be somewhat rigid. I'm not sure if such system's exist socially so I think the OP is half valid, yes to contagious but no to disease.

Concur with adder. Yes, fear and violence can be contagious. I have personally seen fear devolve into panic, and at that point is very difficult to counter. It spreads from man to man. Violence too can be contagious. A erfect example of this is the My Lai massacre during the vietnam war, when soldiers began killing civilians indiscriminately. But none of these fit the definition of a disease, and we don't get to redefine words to make rhetorical ppoints.
