Counters for sale !

I am going to keep this short and to the point.

It has recently come to my attention that there are some that are using the counters as a basis for "competition". I have more Thank You's or Higher post counts, etc. This to me is very disheartening. We are all here to grow personally and spiritually and I would hope that nobody here would think that they are better than someone else because they have 100 more thank yous that another person or 200 more posts. Please if you are one of the people that is doing this remember Jedi are supposed to be humble.

I have nearly 6 times as many posts as you. Why would I care what you think?

And Master Damion, you just made that post to get artificial thank yous, lol.

I tease of course, but I absolutely agree with you.

I think all the popularity tickers should be removed. When I was attending a brick and mortar church years ago there was no sign on anyone's neck that said how many "LOOKS" they had or how many times someone said "Thank you" to them. That would have been absurd.

Hah, if you don't count anyone that is/was an admin, mod, or, council member than I'm winning the race in both post count and thank yous

Of course it's about quality not quantity...I don't even look at post count or thank you's, or profile views unless someone brings it up...then natural curiosity leads my eyes to see...

No not reverse psycology, not wanting artificial thank yous. I just simply makes me sick to my stomach that people here would try to use this crap as a popularity contest. I could care less if someone has 6 times as many post and I don't care if someone likes what I write. I am no better or worse than any other person that comes in here. I try to respect everyone and wish that I got the same respect as a person and not as a number.

Still on the more statistics page though. Perhaps we should remove that too? It isn't really used for anything and is the same as what Damion said here...

I agree with removing the tickers and the word "popular". I like the lists of active, new and online quite a bit but the "popular" one is not even remotely okay to me. I vote that one leaves, if there's ever a vote.
