To paraphrase the G.O.A.T. - Those who have the same view at 50 as they had at 30 has wasted 20 years of their life. I feel this especially holds to Jedi. Though don't get me wrong. My view has evolved, it is not completely different. Which I'll spare for the sake of topic control. :P

Thank you to Learn_To_Know, Connor Lidell, Rugadd, Jestor, Llama Su, Mark Anjuu, and Br. John for the kind words. Appreciated.

Jayden wrote: The art of Jediry versus Jediism. I gather that is the main reason he is not a part of the Jedi temple?

Originally. There more practical reasons which have prevailed since then.

Jedi History has value for those who seek to lead. It offers the previous trial and errors of various projects. Why did this site crash? How did that group implode on itself? It allows one to learn form the experiences of previous Jedi trying to create a worthwhile community to grow in. One doesn't have to sit there and reinvent the wheel. Why did Rogus Jedi fail? How come there is no longer any Forest Jedi or Light Sith?

Jedi History also allows those new to see the growing pains we have gone through. How our views have greatly evolved since we first started. How our embittered battles over Role-Playing, Religion, and Standardization (to name a few) caused a lot of good places to close and good people to walk away from a worthy endeavor.

Jedi History also allows us a means to preserve our collected knowledge. Are we so quick to disregard the past (as some seem to suggest)? Who hasn't read the Tao te Ching, Meditations (Marcus Aurelius), The Rising Force (okay, I may be stretching it there)? Lessons which hold merit, which are valuable transcend time. And the Jedi Community has lost more than it has preserved. Excellent lessons which could easily help a young struggling person gain the footing they need to overcome their obstacles. Are we all so enlightened that we never picked up lessons form others or the past?

Jedi History provides valuable lessons through the experience of other Jedi. And isn't great when you are faced with a problem and you can compare your own strategies with those who were in a similar situation? Perhaps a Jedi is thinking of merging websites - well they can find many examples of groups that tried and what difficulties they experienced. In this one can be prepared. Forewarned is forearmed. Knowing the challenges other Jedi faced can prepare you better for your own journey. It eases the personal trail and error and allows our Community, our Path to be Building Block.

Personally - I prefer our History be Stepping Stones rather than Sandcastles on the Tide line. But maybe that is just me.
All that said, you should digitally burn that so-called History "book". It is complete garbage.

I'm Out. *drops mic and walks off stage*

Thank you for being here Opie, appreciate the feedback. The interview left me with allot to absorb, I was not really aware how large the Jedi community is, or that the Jedi even had a history...
How many Jedi knights and masters are there???
On history:
How do you know where your going, if you do not know where you came from? History is just a story... History has relevance and significance... Wither it be stones or sandcastles, there is still a memory, a resonance...
What is Forest Jedi, Light Sith, Rogus Jedi? Is this lost history?
This info in the Jedi Holocron book? Or the history book, just posted??? I presume, considering I am reading on light and dark, shadow jedi and sith, in the Holocron book..

Not as long as I am around. Rogue Jedi, Light Sith, etc. is not covered. They were footnotes. Attempts to differentiate that which did not need to be. Like isms today - they were/are unnecessary attempts to individualize. The key has and always will be Jedi. Are you or are you not a Jedi? The rest is what makes you - you. Whether you classify it as Religion, Philosophy, Insanity, or all of the above is personal choice. And rather irrelevant to the main goal - which is living by the Jedi Ideals in our everyday life. But I digress...

I don't think anyone has covered those specific divisions in Jedi Ideology outside of myself (and what remnants can be found online). The Codes and concepts and even some lessons are not lost. They are simply novelty and haven't presented a need to be shared to the mass public. And the reason I have that information is because I was a part of each group at one time or another. And never know when some young pup might need a history lesson on why Rogue Jedi isn't the best idea. :P

But you consider the Jedi Community has effectively been growing Online since 1995. Having many ups and downs and each generation (if you will) facing its own challenges. As well as facing the same challenges in their own way. Example being Segregation in the Community. 2000 it was Grey, Red, Forest, Rogue, etc. 2010 it is the 'isms. The next is probably all this Classification on Healer, Scholar silliness. So there is definitely a History to the Jedi. Nearing 20 years of constant growth and struggle. That of course doesn't take into account personal histories of those seeking the Path since the original release. The first site to carry the name Temple of the Jedi Order had an epic crush and burn. This TotJO has a very interesting history in and of itself. The transitions and continual advancement forward - a journey worth remembering - even those ugly moments.

 We must be talking about a different Opie. Besides - careful what you wish for. ;)

Brian - Thank you. Darran - Thank you. Rugadd - Of course. It's been my pleasure.

Overall: I wanted to again extend my gratitude. I truly appreciate the kind words of support. These things can be scary. I was and am keenly aware that I was representing an entire Path that extended far beyond myself. That is something I do not take lightly. We are Jedi - the public will not care about or adhere to our glass walls. Religion or not - we are all in the same boat. So for me I simply wanted to represent all of us - the Jedi. The people who wake up every morning and seek to live according to our code and our tenets. To all of you - who seek to approach each moment as a Jedi - you have my thanks. And if I was able to not embarrass you I am glad - mission accomplished =). Because it is to you - the Jedi - that I owe my life too. I respect all who value, honor, and live by the Jedi name. So to you - I say Thank You. If I was able to offer any decent representation, it was because i knew their were good people worth representing.
