I doubt I could finish it before I died, there have been only two others in history to have completed it. Assuming somehow I did, I guess I'd spend the rest of my years teaching and enjoying life.

Well the castle is just an analogy, but yes pretty much there would be nothing left to do after it's completion except just enjoy the time remaining.

I could be wrong, but it seems like the more this thread progresses the more it reflects what I posted on page 2.

I think, Maynoth, that ultimately, the only important question here is:

What matters more to you, your body and this physical "reality" or your spirit, the true you which is eternal?

If you don't mind me saying: It seems to me that if this is mysterious 'castle' is your "purpose for living", then you would not be able to appreciate living life unless you at least made a concentrated attempt towards that goal. You can live life with money, but even if you were able to muster the interest in a field that provided money it seems that unless you were able to continue down the path your passion lies upon your life would be devoid of honest joy.

I think you know deep down the choice you need to make. The best choice is always to follow what you love first and let everything else fall in stride behind that. Life works out if you let it and I've found that if you do what you love you usually end up opening more doors than you may have expected (as long as you remain open minded).

Or do you live in poverty, and focus on what gives you meaning.

I have 2 things to say here and then I think I'm going to bow out of this thread, too. (go the way of Rickie and Des)

1) Maynoth, you really need to learn the difference between disagreeing with you, or simply voicing an opinion that is just as valid as yours, but maybe not the same as yours...and trolling you.

2) If your purpose on this thread is simply to answer that question, then why bother with the thread? It's not like any of us can answer a question about what's best for you, for you...
