2020 Jedi Gathering

Good Afternoon ToTJO!!

2020 is looking up! We managed to secure a location for the next Annual Jedi Gathering in the United States a full year in advance!

Our site administrator is still working on getting our registration page up, but it will hopefully by running by next week.

This year we are looking at doing things a bit differently than previous years. At the moment we are figuring out a theme for the gathering, and from there all our workshops will be tailored to fit the theme. Which brings me to ToTJO.

The last time we had a strong showing by ToTJO was 2012. These Gatherings have come a long way since then too. We’ve learned a lot of lessons and had a lot of community growth at these gatherings. International Jedi Federation (IJF) is hopeful to see this trend continue as we build bridges with the various orders in the Jedi Community. And IJF aren’t the only ones- Armonia Seminary (an education branch of the Light Aspect at Force Academy) wants to see that too.

As you may know, Armonia Seminary has been trying to fundraise for a Jedi Gathering in the UK, but in reality we haven’t made a enough to get a down payment for location out there. However, after talking with our President (Keith Williams/Sotunus) we do have enough to sponsor someone’s ticket to the 2020 US Gathering. What Armonia would like to do, is sponsor $150 ticket to the gathering for a Temple of the Jedi Order Workshop Instructor.

I have already cleared the idea with both IJF & Br. John. Once we have a clear theme (by Friday), I can give more details so that you can come up with workshop ideas that are based around the theme. Any person that wishes to apply for the sponsorship will need to submit a basic outline and description of their workshop and a letter of approval of their workshop from the ToTJO Council by December 15, 2019.

2+ Nights: $150 for 13yo+ ; $110 for under 12
Day Pass: $75 for 13yo+ ; $30 for under 12

Late Comer (January 1-May 10)
2+ Nights: $175 for 13yo+ ; $140
Day Pass: $90 for 13yo+ ; $50 for under 12

For those of you that are hoping to get the Workshop slot, we now have a theme: Connection to the Force.

This year, dinner arrangements will be done by three different teams. We aren't planning on anything special for Breakfast (there will be eggs and meats if someone wants to cook their own or even cook for the group)- but if an attendee wanted to head up a team for cooking breakfast, let us know, and we'll work with you to make the arrangements (including getting the ingredients)! Lunch will be in Sandwich Bar/Picnic Style.

This is great! Do you know roughly how many people the location can hold?

30 sleeping on location, and if more people wanted to stay off location we can host more during the daytime. ^^

Hopefully this picture comes out looking right , I can only see the attachment at the bottom and it looks REALLY pixelly. We are getting shirts for attendees donated this year to go along with a water gun fight we are trying to put together (Capture the Flag event!!!). If anyone knows of a non-toxic, skin-safe, tye-dye quality agent, that won't turn your skin all Smurfy for days on end, let us know!! Otherwise, the material we're going to be using will just wash out of the white shirt like it was nothing (or at least...that's what the manufacturers are saying, maybe we'll get lucky!)

What's going to be on the T-Shirts, you ask? At the moment, the following is our working model, but other emblems can be added. How can you get your Jedi Emblem added?

1) You have more than 1 person in from your order/chapter in attendance.
2) You are running a workshop as a representative of your order (and someone of authority from the order has approved the emblem's use)
3) Your order/chapter is sponsoring the gathering in some way.

There's Gatherings aren't about one order, they are about bringing the Jedi Community together and learning from each other. The organization sponsoring these shirts thought it would be a good idea to demonstrate this by designing a 2020 logo for the gathering. This emblem is due to change up until the March 31, 2020 and we'll start working on getting them into production for attendees.

At the 2020 Jedi Gathering, we’re going to be doing something very new: A Surprise Field Trip that Sunday morning.

Each Board member is creating a Workshop to be done off-site which is inspired both by this year’s theme (Connection to the Force) and their respective element. We’ll be giving out hints as to what each of our workshops are going to be so attendees can choose which one they want to attend!

I wanted to remind you all that the slot for a ToTJO-led Workshop is still open- We haven't had any submissions yet.

Neaj Pa Bol is the recipient of the 2020 Gathering ticket ^^. We’re looking forward to her workshop (which we’ll give more details later, gotta keep some surprises ^^)

A reminder that after the 1st the prices go up by $25. There won’t be an increase after that though. We hope to have more ToTJO members show up ^^. I, personally, would love to meet more of you!

I'm going to be releasing some teasers each week concerning the Surprise Field Trip on the Sunday morning of this event. Unfortunately one of our Field Trip hosts ended up having to cancel on us. Sometimes life comes up. . Today I'm giving you the teaser for Gabriel Calderon who is running the Element "Spirit".

Do we have folks going besides myself??? I'm more than likely driving from AZ to NC for this... Looking forward to seeing folks there!!!

Hummmmm.....

Wonder if we can record them...??? Can get recording camera's etc., maybe others can too and have these available at a time they wish to make available... I can definitely bring my stuff that I can do through my laptop, or camera's...

Some of the people won't want to be filmed, but anyone that is willing to put their material on camera, I'm down.

Guess we should find out who's ok with it, Video, audio, etc.. ahead of time...
