Are there people in your life that you are close to, that you truly respect?

Seeing others as being stupid, inferior or better, means that you're judging yourself and your environment. This is a result of taking your thoughts (ego) way too serious. When you take your thoughts too serious you are putting yourself in a meaningless and never-ending battle of the mind. People that have this view of the world, that others are inferior, are isolated because they're afraid to be vulnerable.

In the words of the Desiderata, "If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself."

No one is smart all of the time or superior all of the time and that includes you.

That means you're finding reasons to disqualify as many people as possible from your life.

If you realize that, and the rest, you'll start to ask yourself a different question.

How is it that the people in my life have tolerated me for so long?

I ask myself that question often, and it reminds me that people are more forgiving than most assholes like us realize.

Remember, that even though we all believe that we are above average, almost all of us have the same IQ, give or take a few points.

From the Jedi code "Ignorance yet Knowledge" we learn that we have to take action to become a better person

Sit down and write a list of everything you can't do.

Can you repair a road? Can you sew a corset? Can you carve out a tombstone?

Write down every human tool you can't use, every task you can't perform and every little skill you don't have.

You could also add in every stupid thing you've ever done and said.

Then look around.

There are people who can use tools that you can't.

There are people who can perform tasks that you can't.

There are people with skills that you will never, ever acquire.

So in one way or another, you are inferior to every one of them.

Humbling thought, right?

This is what intelligent people talk about, when quoting Socrates:

"I know one thing; that I know nothing"

Every person you meet, know things you don't.

And even though you study every day. There will always be people who have skills or knowledge that you don't have.

So every other human is interesting, in one way or another.

But of course, you won't see their skills and knowledge, if you think of them as stupid or inferior.

People can sense that, and then they clam up and stop sharing with you.

Focus on observing your thoughts, letting them be for what they are (and not being judgemental). You will find pure freedom (free of judgements).

May the Force be with youÂ
