There are quite a few threads about martial arts...
I myself am a MooDukKwon teacher... It is a style of TKD...
Yes, I believe in Ki, as I call it...
Could it be ther Force? Yes..
Is it? i dont know...
Maybe it is just the way in which my physical body gets in touch with it...

HumbleKJ wrote: I was just wondering how many people study and practice martial arts? What styles and for how long? I have been studying and practicing since I was 18 years old. I am 34 now. I have studied under great masters and learned from experience. Just want to know a little bit about others experiences with chi? If you believe in it? Why or why not? And could this really be the 'force'?
You mean you want to find a martial art that leads to real force abilities, yeah I've got that one covered.
This is sort a sore topic, as any time it's brought up it causes massive argument and debate.
I have lots of studies that document electromagnetic etc anomalies, and documentaries done while subjects were under medical and or scientific observation, etc.
For whatever reason though, when confronted with hard evidence, communities tend to flip out and turn into lynch mobs.
So it's not something I can discuss really in public.
Feel free to PM me though.

I learnt a little bit of acupuncture theory and practice, but its not something I'm engaged with at the moment. I've also been to a few lectures on Qi Gong and TCM. I think it must be part of the Force, but then perhaps everything already is!!! If I get some spare time I might take up acupuncture and experiment on myself in regards to its pain relieving/blocking capacity.

I've studied m/a since Iwas 8...just turned 37 today....so a very long time, and many styles...karate, kempo, wing chun, shuri-te, eskrima, maharlika kuntaw, muay thai, renshinkan-ryu ninjutsu(aka fuma style), jiu jutsu, tae kwon do, kendo, bujutsu....always looking for more....it was martial arts that lead me to zen, zen lead to jediism...Ilearned that adding spiritualism to the physical aspect of martial arts the techniques became stronger...and my mind became clearer...

Currently I am in school for acupuncture and have studied tai chi and qi gong and a bit of aikido.
The most important part is the personal experience. Second is finding the right words to describe these experiences to others. In aikido, tai chi, qi gong, and even walking down the street we are dealing with the flow of energy and the relation of energetic bodies.
In acupuncture we use the terms Qi and qi. The capital Qi denotes the universal Qi; the energy which creates and flows through everything. Lower case qi is a specific type of energy flowing through living creatures along certain pathways.
SO...Qi and qi could be congruent to the unifying force and the individual force.

HumbleKJ wrote: Thank you all for your insights. The reason I am asking is that I still practice everyday and have been without a master, sifu, ect for some time now. By the way my main practice is JKD.I have noticed that when I am practicing outside of the dojo or away in nature my chi or inner strength has changed. To me it feels like I can direct my force a lot easier. I have a partner I spare with and we use pads almost always. She has told me on multiple occasions that the force that is hitting her hands is greater than the force hitting the pads. Depending how I hit I can feel this...through the palms!! Just wondering from the teachers here...how do you grow that force? Also is there certain foods that you eat and don't eat that helps??
Read the part on diet in "the great jedi holocron" it goes in depth on it...
As for me, I'm not vegan, or vegetarian....I'm carnivorous....lol....actually I tend to eat mostly meat, with some grains, minimal veggies, some fruit...you're lucky you can still get someone to spar with you...most that have known me long enough are scared after seeing what I've done to walls and heavy bags...last time someone sparred with me full contact was in shuri-te...it got around the dojo pretty fast that I hit like a mule...back then I was only 135 pounds but my focus and technique enabled me to hit well above my weight class...I had to spar the heavy weights so the smaller students wouldn't accidentally get hurt....you grow this force through training...just an addition...the technique I use for strikes and kicks is modified from the techniques taught in jkd...my 1 inch punch is impressive, but nothing compared to jkd's founder...that man was beyond brilliant in his methods and beyond magnificent in his techniques....
