Monthly Jedi News Letter or Magazine?

Perris and I discussed the idea of a newsletter before she left, although I am not entirely sure as to whether any of the ideas exchanged between the two of us were shared with other members, she did say she wasn't the only member working on it at the time. I fed her some ideas like perhaps there should be different writers for every issue ensuring that different perspectives were given a voice. This would keep things fresh and new, help keeping it from getting "one-sided" and stagnant. Give everyone a chance that wants to write and submit material or articles, then select the best submitions from the group. Maby include sermons and perhaps material submitted by members recently Knighted, I also like Rugadd's ideas pointing towards a special sermon for each issue written by a Knight...

honestly i believe it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a news article or magazine that one can order and subscribe to off the site for a reasonable fee. It would be a great way to raise money for offline event charity domain cost exc. And have our fellow jedi submit articles and such. Really make it something great and helpful for the community and raise money for the order and money to fund the improvement of the planet. This is something i think should be considered.

Maybe special issues for jedi holidays.

I ran one for about a year, let me be the first to tell you it is one heck of an undertaking. I couldn't get regular articles every month. I had to rely off of a lot of material Jedi Karen of ToTJF gave me at the beginning of the project, my own work, some work from my mentor at FA and whatever Talon (my co-founder) could come up with. A couple of times, just to get articles, I would write a second piece under the psuedonym Randi Oxford that I was using here.

I opened the door for everyone across the community to write a piece each month and on occasion got pieces from Jax, David and a few others around the community.

I don't want to discourage you, but I want you to be fully aware of what it is going to take. In fact, I will go as far as to suggest that your magazine/newsletter start off as every two months until you get the hang of it. Good Luck!

i could contribute up to a couple of pieces a month on various topics. im not altogether certain they would hold with 'orthodox jedi' viewpoints all the time, tho.

I would love to write for it, but I am a lowly novice and may embarrass the Temple with my naivety.

Maybe it can have a clasified section for used robes and light sabers etc.
