I would like to remind people that patronizing/condescending attitude causes my fat banning thumb of doom to twitch. Thank you.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

i would be less patronizing if i could figure out how. the 'empty' thing genuinely bothered me. its fine if alethea is fine with her time in service. but to classify my own estimation of my own service, to pass judgment from afar, i find intolerable.

That is the saddest thing I have ever heard. You are limiting yourself by telling yourself that you aren't capable of being able to do more. You have to get over what happened with OWS, learn what caused it to fail and try a new tactic. Become the leader rather than the person working behind the scenes- because we need people that can lead great organizations with the moral high ground. And you are one such person.

If they are spoken with the right people. How often do politicians come out and talk with the average joe? How often do they reach out to others and find out exactly what WE think? They don't, because most of us aren't educated well enough to comment on the problem.

Perhaps now you understand a little bit better why I have a problem with Desmond Tutu's commentary. You believe I passed judgement on you. It's not your views of what you feel happened during your time in service that I am judging. What is empty is what you hoped to accomplish by posting it. That people will become aware of the US's transgressions because some Nobel Peace Prize winner is calling for people to do something about it.

Your comments are important for YOUR journey, for you to understand what happened during your time in the service. And honestly, I think it would do you a world of good to do a written meditation on the matter to keep for yourself, and maybe even pass along to your family one day, or other members of ToTJO.
