I have a theroy as to why people are so attracted to the Sith:

Also, don't you think that "Sith dialogue" is a lot more fun to say than "Jedi" dialogue?

The trick to being a dark master is to escape The Abyss after it has devoured you. Then The Abyss becomes a tool.
