Well, most of the time these posts regarding Sithism and the Dark Side can be rather...entertaining.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing on the Sith either, I find their ideas/beliefs interesting, however when these 'role-players' or Sith-rejects show up and pretend we're at war or something, I grab myself a batch of popcorn and just enjoy the show.
But on a more serious note,
I'd suppose the reason that I read posts from legit Sith, or even Grey Jedi, is because I'm curious as to how they see things from their point of view, and to understand and learn from them. I've got no quarrel, nor do I think poorly of them for believing the way they do, no matter how different their views are from mine, I'm just curious.

just like we tire of the same food all the time, and crave new flavors, so does our mimd tire of the same concepts, the same approach, and hungers for a new approach.
Plus, sith philosophy is usually misunderstood, so it becomes a controversial topic. Controversy always breeds debate, so it attracts spectators as well.

You were at TOTSO? You're kidding me.
As always, I'm open to questions in private if anyone would like any answered.

There are a few things I have learned while (predominantly) observing at FA
One of those is never to assume you know the motive and mind behind someone else
I read it because it was the only, aside from journal and introductory posts, unread topic on the site
That is only circumstantial to our situation. A better question would be to ask people (in general) why they seem to prefer hearing the negative over the positive

I really encourage you to think about why are you, and people in general, seem so interested in things involving the Sith and the Dark Side.

As zenchi said many of us that have been/are on that path began as children...and it was either forced on us, or was the only option we saw at the time...few non-roleplayers choose that path willingly, and those that do have limits as to how far down it they will go....
Humans have an interesting little thing called "morbid curiosity"...it's that urge to slow down and look at the carnage of a car crash, you know you shouldn't look, but you just can't help yourself....most sith/dark path posts tend to illicit that same response...I tend to peek in only to see if it's a rp'er and to see if anything funny has been said...laughs are few and far for me so I look for them where I can

Warning: Spoiler!
There is passion, yet there is peace
Through passion I gain strength and knowledge
Through strength and knowledge I gain victory
Through victory I gain peace and harmony
Through peace and harmony my chains are broken
There is no death, there is the force and it shall free me

There are two categories of things I know a lot about: things I am passionate about, and things that I am afraid of. For an example of the second category, when I became afraid of natural disasters, I threw myself into research, studying all I could about the mechanics of natural disasters and how to be prepared for them. I guess it left me feeling a little less paranoid, armed with concrete knowledge instead of a vague notion of something powerful and seemingly unstoppable.
When it comes to the dark side, it fits into both categories. I am passionate about philosophy, any philosophy, including ones that aren't my own. I am also afraid, for it is unknown and mysterious, and its very name alludes to something malicious. I still don't know a lot about people who are one the "dark side" as of yet, but I continue to keep my eyes and ears open.

I clicked on it because I like to read anything new, as it is likely not talked to death. Also, because you started it. Your general pretty serious about what you have to say and Sith posts(in my experience) are usually for comic relief(mine). Not dissing Sithism, just most of the Sith posts I've read so far.
