Where do you compose your Journal entries before submission?

When writing your journal entries, do you compose your drafts right in the thread reply, or do you use a word-processor to compose them?

This (below) is what I use. It's called FocusWriter, and you'll see why I use it (and recommend it). I tried making a video screencast to demonstrate it, but due to it requiring viewing it full-screen,the video file size gets WAY too large to work with for me, so I resorted to a screenshot and hope you get the idea.

Click on the image to view it in full size so you can read about it.

If it's part of my studies, or something that I think is gonna be lengthy or important, I write my posts in MSWord and copy them across (and save the Word file on my computer).

Sometimes I like to ad lib and just write things in the box though - I have occasionally come a-cropper with that, when I've lost my internet connection and then lost an entire post, but I do find that sometimes I plan and edit things too much in Word, when if I just write them on the site and click submit it ends up being more from the heart. More of an honest stream of consciousness, perhaps.

I think I will probably try out FocusWriter though...it looks pretty cool.

Notepad, its why I have so many spelling errors. Luckily Chrome helps there sometimes as it points them out when I paste it into the reply. I always save my assignments in the txt files I write them, but that themed application looks great thanks.

When I for the IP, I posted it all from my iPhone, so they were all done from the native iPhone notepad app... lol...

But phones have auto correct, so my spelling isn't terrible!

Lol...

I have it saved on a flash drive however....;)

I generally just reply to topics in the thread

When I sit down and do some work I, generally speaking, will finish doing it then and there

I do try to keep a back up of my journal though (in date order)

I encourage others to do that as well just in case the worst should happen...

Well, I wrote them on word sometimes, sometimes directly in the topic, but I always save them on my portable hard, which is always with me... lol

And for some exercise, I write them on paper before posting... so I have some on my notebook too...

UPDATE:

The application is awesome... however not in full screen. I switch a lot when I'm writing... I will use it with a new setting :D

Pressing F11 takes it out of fullscreen, and turning fullscreen off in the preferences keeps it out of fullscreen when you start it.

I also use it for other purposes other than creative/philosophical writing (I've semi-replaced notepad with it), so when I'm not writing for a project, I have it in windowed mode and it's very nice and simple like this as well. No ugly pesky toolbars taking up the window. ;)

I normally type it up on Microsoft Word and then copy/paste. Safer that way.
