Internet Hate was created by
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/college-allows-transgender-man-to-expose-himself-to-young-girls.html

I read this story. I thought to myself that there was clearly a problem with this. I think that she should first be asked if it would be too much for her to change in a stall rather than in the open. If she doesn't like that idea, she should be asked to just make sure that she isn't exposing herself more than any other woman is. I feel like that would be reasonable.

While I agree that her behavior was a problem, I think the comments were even more of a problem. I trolled for a while. I commented on a lot of things that the woman named Ranger commented on. She seemed to be the only other person at least trying to make sense out of anything instead of just advocating for hate crimes.

I used plenty of sarcasm, and when I felt I could not add any more to the conversation I posted a goodbye. I encourage people to read the story and the comments. This culture of hate is just ridiculous.

I have to agree that the transwoman could have handled the situation better, but putting her in the man's locker room wouldn't be any better in the long run. There is unfortunately not a lot that can be done in this situation though.

Lets say for a minute that gender is no longer simply male or female...would it be inappropriate to create a third or even a fourth restroom for transgender or cross-dressing individuals?

From my perspective, transgender individuals are saying that the biology of a male does not necessarily define the person as a male but rather as a separate "gray" sex that falls into whatever category they choose to see themselves as. I understand and agree with this point and I feel that additional restrooms should be added to allow for different sexes in the same way that there has been a male and female restroom in the past. It's not a matter of discrimination, it is just a matter of protecting any children who may be using that restroom from emotional trauma.

Why is nudity traumatic?

You don't even need a restroom specifically for every gender identity anyone can possibly have. If you identify as male and pass as a male most of the time, use the male restrooms and such. If you identify as a female and pass as a female most of the time, use the female restrooms and such. If you identify somewhere in between or identify in a binary but do not pass enough to be safe in the bathroom of your identity, but you still pass too much to be safe in the bathroom of your assigned sex, then use a family restroom. Really there shouldn't be any reason not to have family restrooms for parents who don't want their kids going into a bathroom by themselves. So transpeople who do not feel safe in a binary bathroom would also be able to use those bathrooms.

Nudity in and of itself is not necessarily traumatic. However, while an adult knows what nudity is and either desires to see it or looks away from it, a child may not have the same knowledge and it has the potential to lead to trust, intimacy and alcohol-related issues in the future.

As a society we wear clothing as a form of civilized decency. For example, you are in your room changing because you have a guest coming over and someone knocks on the door. Do you just say come on in? Or do you say something along the lines of..."I'm not decent right now", "I'll be with you in a moment" or "I'm changing at the moment"? If there was no problem with nudity should we all just walk around naked in the summertime and only put clothes on when we are cold?

If you had a daughter who was about 13 years old...would you walk around completely naked in front of her? Probably not because those are the kinds of situations that cause Social Services to get involved, families to be split up and people to go to jail.

I am perfectly fine with individuals receiving fair treatment and not being discriminated against but there is a quote I've known since I was in elementary school (although now that the internet is easier to use, I'll put the real full quote)...

"I go over there with these gentlemen and swing my arm and exercise the natural right which you have granted; I hit one man on the nose, another under the ear, and as I go down the stairs on my head, I cry out:

“Is not this a free country?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Have not I a right to swing my arm?”

“Yes, but your right to swing your arm leaves off where my right not to have my nose struck begins.”" - James B. Finch

My interpretation of this is that just because you have equal rights doesn't mean that you can impose those rights on another individual. If a man can't walk into a women's restroom, why should someone who has male parts but dresses as a woman be able to?

Transgender individuals are not 'men dressing as women' (unless they identify as a crossdresser). I agree that they woman could have handled this better, but she has a right to use the women's restroom just like all other women do.

We live in a retarded society where children (you know, the six year old kind for instance) have to wear nipple covers depending on the shape of what it is they have between their legs. our own culture causes psychological ills.

Very young children in my experience do not care, then they reach an age (which is increasingly and worryingly lower imo) where they start developing bigotry. Does it make any sense to you that children should be perturbed by the sight of a human penis when they own pets and are well aware of their anatomy? 3.5 billion people on the planet have a penis.

Make cows wear bras and dogs dork shorts. Don't do it because of your retarded sense of morals, do it for the children.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

I understand and I take no issue with the first half of that statement. I never called them "men dressing as women" nor did anyone else. I used the phrase "someone who has male parts but dresses as a woman". Regardless of what sex she was in her brain, her appearance was still male. This means that she was in all appearances a male in the female locker room. This would be unacceptable regularly but because they are a woman in their mind, it's OK to expose themselves to children and other women who may be offended by the sight of male genitals? What protection would these children have from a genuine pedophile walking into a women's restroom and doing the same thing?

Like I said, I do not agree with her actions. It not only puts children at risk, but it makes the trans community look worse than it already does.
