Well that's kind of irrelivant.

Now consider this. Most words come about before the object that they are used for come about. The english language was very Technical and scientific way before the possibility of computers came about.

Language is far more complex and diverse than what it refers to, it's allways been more scientific (or even mathematical) then computers. And it still is. Words like "Helicopter" and "computer" are from a long time ago.

Hell, I think even the word table was used before anyone could build one.

This doesn't mean the words were borrowed from the language and chosen to refer to a particular object.
Leanardo Divinchi invented the helicopter way before it was possible to acctually build it. Without the plans he made and without the origional word "helicopter," there would be no way that it could exist.

Origin: before 900; (noun) Middle English; Old English tabule, variant of tabula < Latin: plank, tablet; (v.) late Middle English: to record on a table, entertain at table, derivative of the noun.

So you are saying that the word, must preexisting the object?

How did anything exist before the spoken language?

In the beginning God didn't have to say light cause no one was listening!

Ok, well, to converse in the same language, we are going to have to both assume there is a God, and for the sake of continuing, I will assume this....

But you will have to forgive my ignorance, as 1. I don't think there is, so, 2. My god quotes are a bit cruddy... lol...

So, God said, "let there be light", right?

Ok, so then didn't God make man at some point, and tell him to start naming things?

Bible people? Can a brother get a psalm and verse? :)

So to name it, it has to exist, right? Or did man come up with a word, and then God give a creature to fit?

"So out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name."

Genesis 2:19

Animals came first, their names came after :)
