Mediums

On saturday I have a medium coming to house to give readings.

What do people here think of them..


OOHHH the purpose I am asking is because my friend who lost her hubby a couple of months ago,has asked me to arrange this for her..

I'm sorry, Temple Goddess, but I don't believe in mediums so much. More specifically, I don't think their predictions are very reliable and I wouldn't risk anything on foresight from a medium.

With that being said, I would not completely dismiss mediums. I think that we should keep all warnings and tips in the back of our minds in case we need them. For example, my uncle always goes to the medium for foresight, and for the past five years, the medium told us that my uncle's dad would pass away. It took about five years for this actually to happen (he passed away last year) so the medium's foresight eventually came true in the near future. Just not exactly as first "seen".

I choose to both believe and carry healthy skepticism, since I think believing increases its capacity to work. The brain's capable of doing all sorts of weird stuff so its an area that interests me. Obviously its an easy way for some people to make money by just using the sadness to regress a person to achieve a transference onto the medium by pretending to 'channel' the identity. This is based on a psychoanalytical technique employed by psychologists, apparantly to achieve changes in behaviour to heal. If it helps though I have no problem with it, but the authenticity of the actual channeling of a spirit has no scientific foundation so that just has to be outright belief (or not).
